Vampires... What is all the hype about?

I liked the movie, except for the GOD DAMNED SPARKLING. "Bella,This is the skin of a killer." when he said that, while sparkling, all i could think of was, "so, what, you killed a tube of glitter and got it on yourself?" I could NOT stop laughing.

There's always been a Vampire "hype", I used to be really interested in some of it (The Vampire Chronicles (the 8 books) by Anne Rice was one of my fav things). I never got the whole Twilight thing though...

If vampires existed I wouldn't want to be one, an eternal lifetime? losing everything thats familiar to you? it seems more like suffering to me .

Psychic Vampires are the only vampires I truely believe in.

the life style is attractive..but i don't know. too horror movie for me. in the back of my head i'd always be like "what the _____ are you doing shelby?!"

I've always thought it strange when they did that for Vampire tales as the original one, yes he did only go out at night...but that wasn't because he couldn't he could go out in day but he liked to "work in the veil of dark" was the reason really.

Indeed Psychic Vampires are horrid little fellows, Then I don't think I've ever known one properly.

I've always thought it strange that people can see a "Glamour" side to the vampire lifestyle when there are so many things that are wrong (the blood drinking ones would have to kill hundreds of people every year just to keep themselves alive).

Eh. I was kinda on a twilight vampire craze at the end of my 8th grade year when I read it. Back before everyone at my school was a crazy obsessed fan. Then again they all thought it was too big to read back then. Lol.

I started reading the rest last year and finished this year and I pretty much lost interest.
I never liked actual vampire stuff...just wasn't for me.

See, in my little world of fantasy, Vampyres don't need to completely drain a body of blood. They can take what they need from a human donor and leave that person alive. They can also drink blood from blood banks that is set to become unuseable.

But they'd still have to live off the life of someone else, what if a Vampire is Vegetarian? haha.

One of my favourite bands is based heavily on the concept of Vampirism (the singer used to let the fans drink her blood during concerts (she obviously had her check-ups first). But thats more in the Vampyrism subculture than the Vampire life (there is indeed a Vampyre subculture...but not the vampires people think of haha).
