Vampire Diaries Premire

Characters were not too terrible, tons of potential. I will keep watching.

HA HA HA....I looked up the main character, "Stefan". I knew I saw him from somewhere else!

He played in the TV Series "Fallen" as an angel. They kept saying they were going to revitalize that series. Well no hope now.

Hilarious that he played in that series and that Supernatural was on after. Of course that is only funny for the super geeks of the genre.:lmao:

I liked it and will keep watching. I'm wondering what Zach is since he is obviously not a vampire but knows that Stefan is. I hope they make Damon look a little more manly.

I got the impression that Zach was Stefan's nephew. :confused3

Yep, me too. I don't think Zach is anything but human (a descendant of Stefan and Damon's and obviously knows the history).
I also think that somehow Stefan was responsible for Damon's tranformation (directly or indirectly) but that could just be me reading too much into the statement he made to Stefan that he promised him an eternity of misery or something to that effect.

Good point. It would make sense.

It is hard to comment without spoiling things based on the book. Of course, things could change from how they were in the book, and my reply is really -- I promise -- not based on what I know from having read the book. However, just in case, I'm spoilerizing it:

You are thinking of the statement as Damon saying, "I'll get you for what you did to me," but the same words can work for, "I warned you what it would be like, if I did as you asked." Also, there is no need for the statement to specifically tie back to anything related to either brother being made into a vampire, but could instead be related to something that happened after.

Good points, bicker! I'm the first to admit my imagination can run away from me, LOL. :rotfl:

I definitely want to read the series but I am in the middle of the Sookie Stackhouse series currently.

I read the books when I was in elementary school and from what I can recall they were good. I actually wasn't very excited for the show and thought that it was going to be horrible. I was actually surprised by it and will probably keep watching. I really like the lead female actress, but I agree with 2BigKIdz about Damon.

I liked it. I actually didn't realize it was based on a book, so I was comparing the storyline to Twilight, asssuming they kinda ripped it off/were trying to capitalize....and I did find a lot of similarities....which is funny considering it's based on another book. I may need to find the book now! But for those of us who have not read the books yet, please dont post spoilers if you can avoid it! :thumbsup2

I was really disappointed in this show last night. I thought the actors playing these "teens" were way too old. I'll give the show a couple of more episodes, but so far, I'm not all that into it.

Well, two things.

First, I for one will spoilerize (change the text color to white) anything that I think is really a spoiler, even if it is just a spoiler for the book.

Second, expanding on what I alluded to above, I don't think anything in the book can legitimately be considered a clear spoiler for the television series. No matter how much Nina Dobrov tried to dance around the question in a recent interview, her character is going to have to be so incredibly different from the Elena of the books, just because otherwise good television would not be possible. And I think that will cascade into a series of implications that will effectively change "everything". I think this is going to be one of those series where some fans of the books will wax on and on about how the series "betrayed" the intent of the books and such.

All for the good, IMHO.

Have you see what teens look like these days? :lmao:

I thought they were OK....except for the vamps which is OK because they are supposed to be immortal, and they are hot so I am OK with looking older, makes me feel less of a cougar LOL ;):scared1:

I enjoyed it very much.

So, bicker, the books are worth reading?

Why do Kevin Williamson created shows have male leads with huge heads? Hello, Dawson?! The actor that played Stefan was very nice looking, but I just couldn't get over the size of his noggin!!

I read 2 1/2 of them. The "1/2" part should be a clear indicator of whether I think they're worth reading. :)

(In other words, notsomuch. :))

Of course, I'm not a teenage girl.

"Stefan" is 27. And hold on to your hats ladies....."Damon" is 31.

Wow....

I tried to read these books and just could not. But my 12 year old DD LOVES them.
