What are the main differences besides price between value and mods? What are the room sizes? Thanks

the values are a little smaller. no refrigerator in the value.

only one sink - moderates generally have 2 sinks.

there is no slide in the main pool at values.

no spa (hot tub, etc) at values.

only a food court no sit down restuarants.

I happen to love Pop Century others hate it.

the moderates will also usually other activities, boat rentals at some, bike rentals at some. I believe that the all stars do not get Mickey soap and shampoo. The moderates may also have some quiet pools.

The other posts have covered the differences IMO, but I must say that we enjoyed Pop Century enough, that we prob won't do a moderate resort again. Possibly CSR if we get a great deal.

We were closer the food court, and pools than at any of the moderates. Rooms are smaller, but adequate. Just takes a little organization. No more noise than at CBR/CSR. We were at Pop, and did have Mickey soaps/shampoos. I don't think they have them at the All stars though.

We still only had 1 sink at CSR, and the 2nd didn't make that much difference. The Curtain at CBR was nice though. Gave a separate changing area, for my becoming shy DD.

You just need to ask yourself if the sit-down restaurant is important to you. Pool slide etc. For the fridge- A Stryofoam cooler works fine for us. And if it is important to have a fridge, you can still rent them. If you are driving, you can buy one at home, and haul it down there for cheaper than the rent.

If the resort is just a place to sleep, then save some $$. More to spend on other things.

We've only stayed at FW and POR, but I get the sense that the value resorts have less shade. I Love POR for the controlled overgrowth of vegetation and feeling of privacy even just walking down a path to the food court.

Pop has some shade - when the trees maturity it will get even better - but for a value resort it has some great landscaping!!!!

I love the All Stars.
They can't be beat. I have visited WDW more than a dozen times with the 1st time in 1971. I've stayed at FW, Disney Inn, a few the of Hotels on hotel Blvd., CBR and the towers at the Contemporary. I got see the MK from my balcony at the Contemporary and I'm happy I got to experience it once. :flower: I just prefer the All Star Resorts.
The theaming is pure Disney. :earsgirl: :earsboy:
My last 4 visits have been at The All Stars and this fall when we take dd, dsil, and our grandson age 3 we are staying at the All Stars. I thought about AKL and even though we can well afford AKL I just wanted Alex to experience the Disney Magic at the All Stars. I can hardly wait.
When we pull up to check in and I see those huge icons I know I'm at Disney :Pinkbounc :bounce:
Linda ::MinnieMo

In addition to what has already been said:
Moderates: you are taken to your hotel room by hotel staff when you check in
Values: Schelpp your own luggage
Moderates: more pools and I THINK pools have a deep end
Moderates: more than one bus stop at each resort
Value: only one bus stop
CBR has some of the largest rooms on porperty, over 300 sq ft.
I find the moderates have more of an "adult" feel, but I usually stay at value!

I've only stayed at Value...two of the Allstar and the Pop. And I love them!!!
(Although my dream is the Grand Floridian)

But I figure all the money I save from the other categories (Mod & Sup) I can spend it on Park Tours and Souvenirs.

By the way...Pop has the Mickey soap and the Allstars did back in the 90s, so I would think they still do. I can't remember about the shampoo because I didn't bring those home. :)

Besides like everyone else says, how much time do you spend at your hotel. I leave in the morning and return no earlier than 7pm.

Commando Disney all the way.

Whatever you pick...you'll enjoy yourself

I think a lot depends on the time of year that you go. The rest of my gang stayed at *** during a 4 day Columbus weekend-they liked it just fine. They also stayed there during the summer(midjuly). They said they would never do summer in a value because of the noise, the crowds and all the unsupervised kids. They never found those things to be a problem when staying at a mod in summer.
