Can you guys really tell me the difference on why you would pick a deluxe over a value ???

My sister and I stayed at pop in january and now in sept/oct we are thinking about staying at the WL

we are staying for 4 nights and only going to the parks for 2 days so we will have two days just at the hotel.

is there alot more to do at wl then at pop ???

how is it getting to the parks ?? we are only going to the magic kingdom for a day and mgm for a day.

Hi Andrea!
I've never stayed at a value, but have stayed at a moderate and deluxe resorts. I think it really all depends on what you like to do. If you are one to spend more time in the hotel rather than the resort, then a deluxe might be a good move. If you really only use the hotel to sleep, then a value would be perfect.

I've stayed at WL twice and we really loved it! Good luck with your decision!:) There is a nice pool with slide that kids love. Also, we loved riding the bikes there.

One of my favorite things about the deluxe is more light in the room.

I only stayed at All Star Sports once & hated it & I stayed at the then Dixie Landings & hated it because the room was so dark. I didn't like to keep that curtain open so everyone can look in for that tiny window they had.

Yes people can look in at the Poly when I have the curtain open but they are not walking right next to my window. And it's a huge door so I can just have it opened a bit & still get a ton of light in.

I also hate the buses so by staying at the Poly I can avoid them for the most part since I don't go to AK or the Studios that much.

I do like the bigger room & I know people say you aren't in your room that much but trying to get ready in the am in a smaller room isn't funny-plus for my next trip I will be a family of 5 so a deluxe is the way to go for me as usual.

I am also sentimental & the Poly is where we first stayed (or it could of been the Golf Resort & then we split the stay at the Poly, I was only 3 so who knows what we did first).

I love the monorail so I need the monorail resort. I have stayed at the BC & would do it again as a split stay with the Poly but not with my younger kids (they will be 7, almost 5 & 2 1/2 on our trip-too much packing).

I've stayed at deluxes and values (and moderates). I chose deluxes for some trips because (1) I had the money and (2) the location was the best for us. Now that it's just the two of us, we don't need deluxes anymore and when we do stay onsite (not as often as I would like), we don't need to spend that kind of money and the values are just fine. If we have some extra money, I go up to a moderate only because of the hot tub. We love hot tubs. Other than that, value is just fine.

If money is no object, we prefer to stay at the deluxes. We have stayed at Pop a couple of time, Beach Club and Wilderness Lodge. Although I love the icons and everything at Pop, I definitely love Beach Club and Wilderness Lodge more. BC by far has the very best pool and a great location. WL also has an excellent location and a much more relaxed atmosphere. We were lucky enough to have a villa and it was so quiet in our room. In Pop we have always heard commotion of people walking past the room, toilets flushing, etc. In the deluxes we have been lucky and haven't heard that. Another major factor with the deluxes is the bus situation. There always seems to be room to sit on the deluxe buses vs. Pop's buses in addition to usually having better pick up locations. With staying at WL you are only a boat ride away from MK. Also staying at WL you are close to Fort Wilderness which you can take a walk on the trail, rent bikes, go horseback riding, etc. There is so much more to do here than there is at Pop Century. Our daughter has some really great pictures from WL of several animals that she got close with including a duck, a bunny, and a few birds including a cardinal.

We stay deluxe because the resort is an important part of our vacation. We like to spend a lot of time at the pool during the day and enjoy the restaurants on nights we want to relax. We prefer the amenities they offer.

Deluxes are just the right choice for us. We have stayed at Coronado and enjoyed it as well, but not as much as the Poly or CR. I don't think the values are good choice for us.
