Value Studio or Standard View Studio at Jambo House?

We currently have a value studio booked at AKV-Jambo for a long weekend in September, booked at the 7 month mark. This is an "extra" trip that I initially didn't budget any points for, but thanks to some re-shuffling of dates for our other trips, we are able to swing it without borrowing. For the 4 nights we are staying, the value studio uses 43 points. A standard view studio is 50 points. While my original goal was to use as few points as possible, we can swing the extra 7 points without causing issues with any of our other reservations.

So having said that... should I ditch the value studio and book standard view instead? I am concerned about being cramped. There are 4 of us; 2 adults and 2 kids who will be 9 and 7. We typically stay in 1 BRs. Will we miss the extra space in the value studio? We stayed in a savanna view studio at Jambo House using a friend's points (before we became members ourselves) back in April '09, when the kids were 5 and 3 and it was plenty big enough then. But now we are used to 1 BRs at BLT and are spoiled. Thanks for any advice you can give me! :goodvibes

Is the 3 feet extra length worth the 7 points? Well, by giving up value, you are giving up a chance to get a savannah view, although by reports here, some "bad" savannah views in Jambo have been downgraded to become standard views, so there's that chance.

The values are tight when the sofa bed is opened, and you'll be opening it, so, I would go with the standard. With a value, you could also have a parking lot view, and the pool view is nicer! Pool view is what most of the standards are at Jambo, the only exceptions are what is a bad savannah view.

My DSon had himself and his 3 kids ages 7, 8, and 9 in a standard studio in Jambo in January and they made out rather well.

Thanks for your reply, Bobbi! Actually, there are some standard view rooms at Jambo with pretty good savanna views (some of the re-classified ones); we stayed in a standard 1 BR last June and had a great savanna view! I know either way it will be luck of the draw if we end up with a good view.

Still have no idea what to do.... :scratchin

Having stayed in both with 3 people I can tell you that the difference in space is definitely noticable....and I would do the standard studio. If 4 nights is the entire duration of your trip though then your luggage should be limited to almost carry-ons so you may be fine. (When we were in a value we were there for 3 nights but were then going on a cruise for 7 nights so we had a good bit of luggage.) The problem for me with the value studios is that there are SOOO many freaking PILLOWS in those studios and there is NO PLACE to put them...except under the bed...then there are those little tables that they use instead of a coffee table. You almost have to stack them to get them out of the way. There really is NO floor space with the sofa bed pulled out. If you have the points I say go for the larger unit.
