I was just perusing DL info through the DU site. They mention a 'value season' in their packages information. Does DL have a value season, and if so, when is it? I'm not so interested in the $$ aspect, just trying to find the least crowded time to go. (Is there such a thing as low crowds at DL!?)

Thanks for your input!!

I think if you avoid holidays and school holidays, you can pretty much guarentee lower crowds. Sept-Early Dec (other than thanksgiving,etc..) and then Jan-Apr (without the long weekends and easter,etc..) are probably lower crowds. We just got back and the crowds were very very light! Friends of mine went in October over Halloween and found crowds to be light-moderate, depending on the day of the week.

We went early December and found no crowds - vurtiualy all rides were walk on. However, two weeks later, when school holidays started, queues for rides like Indiana Jones were 65 minutes.

This site has good information on crowd patterns. Early December mid week crowds can be as few as 10-15,000, in Christmas week it can be as high as 90,000 and August 75,000.

It really does pay to plan as we had such a great time going on as many rides as we liked and not having to queue. Early December also has great Christmas decorations and Small World and Haunted Mansion carry special Christmas themes.

We are planning to be at the DLR May 29-31. I checked the website listed above and it says the Sunday before the holiday is very busy, which in this case would be Memorial Day.
Would it be better to do DL on the actual holiday as opposed to the Sunday and maybe do DCA on that day?
Does anyone have an idea of what DL's hours will be or have been for Memorial Day?

Thanks,
Redcon1

I expect that the whole weekend will be very busy, especially since Disneyland will be celebrating its 50th anniversary. I would recommend DL in early mornings, late evenings, and DCA for the middle of the day, although I expect it will also be crowded there during the weekend.
