Hello:goodvibes I was wondering if any one knew if I book my trip on the last day of a value season will they give me that price(the value price) for my whole stay?
I was also wondering if I book the last day of free dinning would that carry over thru my trip? I was thinking about going down on Sept 30th for a few days and that is the last day of the value season and free dinning. go figure!:confused3
Thanks Nettii:goodvibes

It would have in 2007, but in 2008 each day is priced separately. Sorry for the bad news, bt have a great time anyway.

General public free dining has not been announced yet..

And Smily is right.. in 2007 you could have done this.. but in 2008 each night is priced separately.

Im' moving this over to the Resorts Board. It's more of a booking question than a theme parks question.

Thanks,

Knox

How do you know when free dining starts and ends? I would like to know also. We just got back last night from the AKL for 6 nights and we loved it. Parks were very very crowded. Food was great. Weather was great until the cold day on Jan 2. Wednesday and Thursday were very very windy and cold. I was wondering if anyone has every been down in September for free dining. Thinking about keeping kids out of school for 6 nights. By then my children will be in the 8th grade and twins in the 6th grade. I'm sure their teachers won't like it, but their our kids and our kids work so hard all year long. My questions about September are HOW ARE THE CROWDS? HOW IS THE WEATHER TEMP? ARE THE LINES LONG? Please help me if you have been during FREE DINING. This would really help us out money wise, because of 3 of my children are adults( according to Disney) it would save us alot of money and we could eat at the best places. We have a Disney Visa card and I have been told that they get to book first. I know we will have to get 2 rooms at the allstars, but they are very nice. Please help me out with the questions and just give me your input. Thanks

I have gone to WDW three times during Free Dining. Usually around the 14th or so for a week to ten days. We participated in FD for two years and then joined DVC so we can not get Free Dining any longer.
The weather in September is hot, sunny and humid. Did I mention HOT?? It is also hurricane season, which we have been fortunate to avoid. Their are rain showers pretty much daily. They usually don't last too long and are quite refreshing. ;)
The crowds have picked up with Free Dining the past two years. Not the lines but the parks and resorts in general. Of course restaurants are always packed. But, if you are used to crowded times of the year, September should feel very light crowd wise.
Lines are usually minimal if not walk on. We walked on Splash three times in a row last September with no wait.
I have taken my kids out of school since they were in Kindergarten in September. However, our oldest son is going into 6th grade (Jr High) this fall and my DD will be starting Kindergarten so we do not feel comfortable taking them out during that time this year. We will be figuring out another time to enjoy the World. :goodvibes

We just got home last night from a 6 night at AKL. It was so nice. The crowd level was so so crowded. The lines were 90 to 120 minutes. some 60 min. It was fun, but I would love to go during free dining. We have never taken the kids out of school, but free dining might be worth it. Our kids are 12, and twins 11. I know they would have to make up the work, and our school will not start until late August for 2008. We just might try free dining. We also have a Disney Visa card, so maybe we will be able to get a early start on free dining.

For 2008 the bounceback free dining offer dates were Aug 30-Sept. 27, although you could start your vacation on the 27th and keep free dining for your length of stay. The max # of nights you could reserve was 14. There's no way to tell yet whether it will be offered to Visa card holders and the GP ( probably will) or whether that promo will have the same dates. As was already mentioned each day is priced separately so no longer can you book one day in value season and have the rate extend.---Kathy
