value room AKL?

We are just about to book a trip for July next year. We are taking my family down to celebrate a couple of b-days so we need to get 4 rooms. We were orignially looking at OKW but today we realized that a value studio at AKL would save us about 40 pts. I know it kinda sounds bad but we are also planning an xmas trip the same year.
We talked to MS today and they told us that the only difference between a value room and standard room is only a couple of feet and is only available at Jambo house.
Has anyone stayed in a value room, if so did you find it to be that much of a difference? Pros & Cons? Could 2 adults and 1 child fit easily? Are we just being really cheap, should we go with our original idea and stay at OKW?

We have stayed in an AKV value studio and a value 1 br. The rooms are about 3 feet smaller length wise, width is the same. I find value rooms at AKV the best value in DVC. There are 10 1 br lockoffs, and 10 studios. 4 have SAVANNA view, 4 have POOL view, and 2 have parking lot view (request savanna view. The only bad thing you may come across is that some of the studios do not have a built in closet, they only have the closet armoire. I will post some pics of the value studio when I get home.

I've booked value studios twice now and I like them. I didn't find space to be much of a problem, and I haven't noticed the lack of a closet - we don't use them much anyway - we just stack our suitcases.

Thanks for the info. I did not realize you could get a value 2 bedroom with a Savanna view. I am kicking this around for my July trip next year. Are they typically harder to book? Also, are they DVC villa's or just regular rooms in Jamba?

I didn't realize you could get savannah view either. Does it cost extra pts or do you just put in your "view request"?
I'ld love to see the pics. I'm thinking this might be the way for us to go.

Savanna view is the same number of points as it is only a request.

Just reserved our rooms and put in the savannah request.

The value room doesn't have the sleeper chair, so it sleeps 4 instead of 5. Or you have to share the pull-out sofa instead of having your own bed if you have 4 people.

Thanks for the info. I called DVC and they only have 10 rooms - good luck getting one especially if AKV is not your home. Of course you can always waitlist. I'm gonna give it a try that's for sure!
