Hi I am getting married at Disney next November and I have to choose 3 hotel for my guests a Deluxe: The Beach Club, Moderate: Port Orleans FQ and a Value.....I have no idea. Can anyone give me some advice on the value I should choose? Pop Century was not listed as an option, which one of the All Stars would be closest to the Beach Club since that is where the reception will be?
Thanks

All the All Stars resorts are together in a line. Only a parking lot separates them. Technically speaking, Sports is probably closer but the others are right behind it (a 10-20 minute walk to the farthest place).

If your guests will be coming without children, I suggest the All Star Music. The themeing doesn't seem to appeal to families with young children, so it's great for those of us who aren't traveling with kids.

Those are my thoughts also - the most adult-themed of the 3 resorts.

I read somewhere that the bus is shared between all of the value resorts, however, the bus picks up and drops off at ASMu first. It that's true, then that's a pretty big plus.

All Stars: Music, Sports, & Movies - and Pop Century resort - which is a value resort that isn't in the same location as the other 3, right? I haven't stayed at any of these - but, we during our visit last summer we spent an afternoon driving around and checking out all of the hotels. Walked the lobbies, etc. Pop Century is the newest and I think people forget about it because it isn't in the row with the others. I read somewhere a while back that the 3 (music, sports, & movies) all share the same buses and the first stop (can't remember which one of the 3 hotels is first in the line) tends to fill up the bus so there isn't much room available when the bus gets to the next two hotel stops. Pop Century has their own buses - from what I've read in the past. Maybe someone who has stayed at the hotels can come along and give you more advice. Out of all of them, if I were to stay at one - I'd choose Pop Century just because it is newer and the bus situation if I didn't have a rental car. Out of the other 3, the "movie" themed resort is the cutest - in my opinion.

IF the busses are shared (not always are, especially going to the parks in the morning), the pick-up/drop-off order is Sports, Music, Movies. I've never had a problem with busses at any of the All Stars, but be warned that after the parks close, it can be crowded, although that is true of ANY WDW resort. One time I came out of MK and there were 3 busses waiting at the AS stop and all filled up quickly.

Another vote for Music, less youth groups & nicest pool IMO. We like the pref. rooms, the ones back by the Piano Pool are a very long hike to the bus stop & lobby. Good Luck.

I prefer the All Star resorts.

Here is a site with a map of All Star Sports and All Star Music.
http://www.wdwinfo.com/resortmaps/allstarmap.htm
Scroll down. All Star Music is at the bottom of the page.
The Calypso buildings at All Star Music are #1 and #10 are nearest to the food court and bus stop.
They are the preferred buildings and cost about $12 extra per night.
The Calypso pool at ASMU has Donald Duck.

Here is the map of All Movies.
http://www.wdwinfo.com/resortmaps/allstarmovie.JPG
The Fantasia Buildings are the preferred buildings.
The All Star Movie Fantasia pool has Mickey.
The buses are wonderful.
Bus ride times according to PassPorter.com

Bus rides are shorter from the ALL Stars than POP according to PassPorter.com

All Star Buses------------Pop buses
MK 20 min---------------MK 25 min
Epcot 10 min------------Epcot 20 min
MGM 10 min--------------MGM 15 min
AK 10 min----------------AK 15 min
DTD 15 min---------------DTD 20 min

The All Star resorts have 1960 rooms each.
Pop has 2,880rooms.
That means more people in the pools, food court and in line waiting for the bus.
When phase 2 of POP is built it will be 2 bus stops at POP and the 2 POPs will have the same # of rooms as the 3 All Stars.

BUS SHARING
It is usually just our stop and maybe one more on the way to the parks. On the way back sometimes its all 3 but often Sports and Music share and Movies has it's qwn bus back.

I guess some people who stay at POP see all 3 All Star names on the return sign of our bus stop when they head to the POP bus stop and think All Stars also has 3 stops on the way to the park.
(Even when we stop at another AS resort to load up it has not taken more than 5 minutes and we are on our way!)

Also All Star is closer to the main road to get to parks and thats why bus rides are shorter from there than from POP.

I  the All Star Resorts --they can't be beat. I have visited WDW more than a dozen times with the 1st time in Oct. 1971. It was brand new. I've stayed at FW, Disney Inn, a few the of Hotels on hotel Blvd., CBR and the towers at the Contemporary. I got to see the MK from my balcony at the Contemporary and I'm happy I got to experience it once. I just prefer the All Star Resorts.
The theaming is pure Disney.
My last 4 visits have been at The All Stars and this fall when we took dd,dsil, and our grandson age 3 we are stayed at the All Stars Music. I thought about AKL and even though we can well afford AKL I just wanted Alex to experience the Disney Magic :wizard: at the All Stars on his first visit.
Where else can one find Donald Duck or Mickey Mouse at the pool?
Have a great time at Disney.
I know we did !

When we were there (ASMU) at the end of August, the buses were shared occasionally. We never had all 3 resorts on one bus; sometimes we shared with Movies, and other times with Sports. It was never crowded on the busses. Pop Century always had long lines at the parks, and tons of young children in those lines.

I like the non-preferred rooms. I would rather have a longer walk and a quiet room.

Pop century is closest to BC and I like it there I always ask for pool side preferred building
