value resorts question

Hey all!

For those of you who have stayed at the all stars a few times....I've only actually stayed at the moderates on up and have a friend who wants me to look into the all stars for a stay for an upcoming event going on for their son. Are sports,movies and music all connected? meaning, can you walk from each to the others? Or are they all near each other but separte complexes? Apparently, their son has a few friends already staying at sports and booked a while back and if he can't get into sports I want to know if I tell her to book movies or music will they be within walking distance to the other resort ? make sense?

Also - apparently, this event he's going to is going to be held at wide world of sports - isn't PopC right near it? So at least if the other all stars aren't within walking distance, it wouldn't be far for them to be hopping from PopC to where the main event stuff will all be happening if they can get into there?

Good question. I have stayed at All Stars and POP many times, but I've never tried to walk between them. Each resort itself has a considerable amount of walking, so I'm really not certain. My guess would be that it's walkable, but a pretty long walk.

If there are separate busses going to WWoS, that would be a good transfer option as it is right by All Stars.

POP isn't connected to the All Stars....and All Star Sports and Music you can 'walk to' if you don't mind a 'walk', they're not really close, but you can manage it. WWOS has separate transports also......

and the last time with neighbors and we walked back and forth between the complexes......not far at all

we were at the mighty ducks bld the last time and it was quicker to go to the bus stop at the one before Movies....and also their food court.....

Both? They are connected in the sense that you can walk to them but they are also seperate and each their own complexes.

We stayed in the Tennis bldg at Sports in 04, bldg 5 and if you went out our door and looked to the right you could see a big parking lot and one of the bldgs from Music. Does that make any sense??

Music is next to sports then movies is farther down. When you enter you are on the "main strip" so to speak and then you can turn onto a driveway or street to get into sports, or go down a little farther and do the same for music then go down some more and do the same for movies.

Pop century isn't really near the all stars.

Ok, looking at a map of the entire WDW area.

Animal Kingdom is on the far left of the map, go a little south east and there is the All stars, go directly east to all stars and there is the WWOS complex, go a little NE from WWOS and there is Pop.

Wide World of Sports is not within walking distance of any Disney resort. As for driving distances, the All-Stars are only about 1-2 minutes further than Pop Century.

Thanks everyone I realize you can't walk to any of the parks or wwosp - I meant is it a quick hop from pop to wwosp by bus it's pretty close to there no?

There are no direct buses to WWoS... you must transfer at the Studios to get there. Either resort will be the same amount of time.

I think it really depends on the person, as far as if they will consider it a long walk. When staying at the All Stars we've always requested rooms as far away from the food courts as we can get and have always wound up in the farther back buildings and loved it! Each All Star is set up with buildings lining each side of a center strip, and at the front of each strip is the food court. Now when staying at the back of the strip I personally don't think it's a far walk at all, but I've heard complaints from individuals about it being too far. Thats just an example, but I also have walked between the resorts along the main road connecting them and did not find it to be far at all. Obviously whether they would think it was far would depend on their general health and level of activity. If they don't run around normally and exercise who knows, they might find it far. Your going to be able to judge better than anyone on here would. BUt one thing that I didnt see mentioned was that if their friends are at another ALL Star, they can just hop on one of the buses heading to the parks, because often the same buses stop at all 3 resorts. At least the one time I used Disney Transportation they stopped at each of the All Star resorts in succession. It would be a smart idea to possible ask a CM about that or call the resort first though, b/c as I've said I've only tried that once so I dont know if it was a fluke thing or not. Thanks Tyler! - didn't think of that. Now that I think about it I've never seen a bus from any of the resorts I've stayed at to wwosp - you can tell what a sports nut I must be lol -- NOT.

my friends son is 22 and pretty athletic so shouldn't be a problem Thanks though - the info. about buses sharing and all is a help. I think at this point I'll just suggest he and the 2 friends looking to join the others who've already booked ought to just book wherever they can get closest (assp of course would be the ideal if it's available) and just tell them that if they can't get into assp that no matter where they can get in they can always just plan to meet at wwosp at a particular time or whatever. They've all got cell phones - how hard can it be at that age lol?!
