Just wondering if any couples have stayed in any of the value resorts. As a way to save money on the next trip, this may be the only option or else I may have to wait two more years! What were your experience with it if you have stayed? Thanks for any input.

We stayed at AS Music as an adult trip & had a great time. Now that was before POp or AoA was built. but we enjoy the values and I would stay at a Value again on an adult only trip.

DH and I stayed at POP in 2006 before we bought DVC and had a great time! Go for it and just know there will be lots of kids there but it is completely manageable:thumbsup2

Shoot, why not? If people with lots of kids can stay at the Grand Floridian or Coronado Springs, why can't you stay at a value resort? You can get a king sized bed or two double beds.

Stayed at Pop and AsSpo as adult only. Very fun, met awesome people (didn't save any money cause DW blew it all on souvineers .

DW and I have also stayed in ASMu together and loved it. We haven't been shy about talking about POP and had booked ASSp next trip before deciding to splurge at CSR. DW feels that all she really needs is a bed and a pool to keep her happy and I agree...although the hot tub was a factor to upgrade.

We typically travel all adults - and often stay at values. Our favorite is Music- it just seems like there are "fewer" kids than at the more child-themed Movies and Sports. We use the smaller piano pool, rather than the big one by the food court and stay in a building on the far edges where it is much quieter, with less foot traffic going by. We don't mind walking a little further to get to the buses and food.

We have stayed at ASMovies, Sports, and POP. All good! If it's just two adults, I would opt for Music, Sports or POP.

We stayed at POP last year with the kids but would not hesitate to stay again if it was an adults only trip. We do have an adults only trip booked for this fall at CSR but we have never been there and wanted to try it.

As a pp said, all we need is a place to sleep. If it is clean and comfortable, I'm in. As much as the higher resorts seem nice, I just don't see how they are that much better to justify such a higher price for some of them.

Now, if someone gave me a trip at a Deluxe, I would definitely take it.

We really liked POP and would like to go again.

DH and I stayed at POP in 2007 for our honeymoon and had a wonderful time! We loved walking around the resort and taking pics with the oversized stuff. I don't remember off hand where our room was, but we didn't have any issues with noise, either (it was January, though, so a pretty slow time).

To me, these types of questions are always loaded. It really depends on what you require out of a hotel room. If you already know you would not be happy with a room that did not offer more amenities then save and go later. My husband and I have stayed at the value resorts and have really enjoyed it. I just can't spend the extra money to stay at a higher priced resort when I just need a place to lay my head at night. I say if the value gets you in now, go for it unless you know you wouldn't be happy. We are going back in August to get our son who is doing the Disney College Program. We opted out of staying at the Wilderness Lodge because of the price difference between the value and deluxe. We could have stayed at the Lodge for a great price with his discount but with tuition for both of my kids due shortly after we return home, the value resort made more sense for now. If you think you could be happy with fewer amenities then go now and plan a trip for later when you can save longer or have more funds. :upsidedow

I don't really care about amenities. I was more or less just wondering if it was a bad experience (parents let their kids run screaming and running down the halls all hours of the night.) Thanks so much for your information and help.

Hi again,
I have to admit that we really do love the value resorts. If amenities aren't a concern then I would say to be careful of large groups at values. Our last trip was during a time when big tour groups from Brazil were staying at ASMo. There was a slight problem with the food court being crowded once the park closed and if you came to the food court in the morning at the wrong time it was crowded. It is a bit daunting to go to the food court when the lines are long but the values are pretty well equipped to handle larger crowds so the line always moved much faster than expected. We stayed in the pool area and kids from the tour group were in the pool pretty late. It was a bit loud at times but that was only for a couple of days of our trip. Overall, for us, the values are a great deal for a clean room and what I consider to be fun theming. I know my signature doesn't reflect this but on one of our trips we were scheduled to stay at the Swan. For the money we were not impressed and moved the next day to ASMu. We truly had one of our best trips staying at ASMu. Our last trip we were able to spend a night at POR which is a beautiful resort. The next day we moved to ASMo and we really enjoyed it. We even tried POP for a night and didn't care for it as much as ASMu or ASMo. Our trip in August is scheduled for ASSp and I am looking forward to it. Good luck in making your decision. I understand the dilemma. I usually second guess myself on every reservation that I make. :dance3:

I suppose it all depends on when you go. We stayed at ASMovies and ASMu over Labor Day and thoroughly enjoyed our stays without kids. However, I wouldn't want to be anywhere near a Value during a Pop Warner tourney or Cheerleading competition.

I have travelled to WDW many times and have always stayed at a value resort. I have travelled with friends, family, and my husband. Since so little time is spent at the hotel, i find the value resorts meet my needs. I'd rather spend my money enjoying the trip and not on extravagant accommodations.

I've stayed at All Star Movies and Pop Century.

Something to note.... if you are making room only reservations, AAA discounts are offered. Perfect way to save some additional funds. :dance3:

DH and I stayed at POP 4 times and ASMu once. We were in our 50's and 60's and without kids. We didn't care for ASMu, dispite seeing multiple reviews that it was a great value resort for adults. But, that had nothing to due with being 'kidless'. We loved POP and I will be going back there in Dec. for my first solo trip as a widow. We always made very broad requests, like ground floor, and were always placed in quiet room locations.

We went as a large group (6 rooms -18 people) and 4 of those rooms were adults only in them in August to AsMo and we all loved the place. We were right across from the main pool and swam each night when we came in at park closing and then went off to bed and never heard a thing. Really enjoyed the theming and price as well!!

DH stayed at POP a few years ago, actually we've been a couple of times. I would recomend not requesting a preferred location as that tends to be closer to the feature pool, where most of the kids are during the day. We stayed in the 50's section both times, the pool there had people, but not too many and it isn't too far to the buses or food court. Overall I found that the only time/place there were a lot of children around was the main pool and breakfast at the food court.
