Which is the best value resort and why? We are looking at our options for our next trip in August 2013 and considering getting two rooms at one of the value. We did one room at PO but found it a bit crowded with 5 of us. If we get a family suite we can't get the free meal deal in late August so considering this option. Any how wondering for those who have stayed on Value which one they liked the best and why.:confused3

Our favorite is All Star Movies. Of course with the age of my kids when we were there it was all about the characters. So having a hotel that envelops you in Disney and their stories was a real treat. My daughter actually was very upset when we went to POR because it didn't feel like Disney:( The themeing at *** and ASMu are kind of cheesy and an afterthought after ASMo.

We have stayed at ASMo and Pop (2 times), we did like Movies alot, the theming is on point but decided that Pop was our fav. Reason being is that Pop has its own bus transportation where as the All Stars goes to Music, Movies and Sports.
Our last trip we got 2 rooms at Pop, asked for connecting standard rooms and when we checked in we were lucky enough to get connecting rooms.

If I were you I would try the new Art of Animation it looks like it's going to be really nice.

We've been staying there for years and enjoy its theming, food court, buses, store. And because we fly, we use ME for our luggage. Pop takes our luggage in the morning and we go to the parks in the day. Then we come back and grab the ME bus to the airport. Pop also has some nice pools. If you have 5 people though you should rent 2 adjoining rooms like we do.:woohoo:

OP we are staying at the All Stars Music in a Family Suite and we have free dining this August (22-29). You should be able to get free dining if I did.

I'm going to disagree with this since the pricing at this moment is crazy high for a value

We have stayed at All Star Movies & loved it - it feels like disney

what ages are your kids - if you have teen boys then you might want to do the sports theme instead

Oops! Obviously I didn't write the correct abbreviation for All Star Sports!

:rotfl2:

We've stayed at All Stars Movies and Pop Century. I absolutely adore Pop Century. This time we'll be at All Stars Sports.

Hi we used to always stay at the All Star Music Suites. They are really nice. They have all been refurbished. The pool is fun there. My DD 13 loved it there. Only problem is the bus situation. The buses do stop at all three All Stars. We didn't have too much of a problem though. Hope you have a magical vacation.

I have 3 girls and they will be 9,12 and 16 when we go. The older two aren't so much into sports so I don't think we would do that one. I think movie or music would be better. Like the idea of Pop Century and A of A having their own buses. Having said that where do the buses start for the All Star resorts? I'd hate to have them drive by because they are full, mind you we will be going late Aug. so will be low season so maybe they won't be that busy. I know the A of A is higher price then the rest but I guess the plus for it is it will be new, though I'm not sure DH could put up with Little Mermaid for very long!

OttawaMom (fellow Canadian) I was told that family suites were not included and I've seen it in print so I wonder what's up with that. I don't doubt your getting it but I don't understand why, if you know what I mean. Of course it made no sense that suits were not included in the promotion as they are more expensive. So I guess I'm just confuessed by this. If a suite is cheaper then two rooms at a value I'd get it but if two rooms are cheaper I think I'd go that way. Want room but rather spend our money on other things then a room we are really only going to be in to sleep. I expect if we spent more time on the resort it would be good to get something like that but maybe no in our case.

We stayed at ASM for one night and HATED it. I loved the theming, but the room was very Motel 6ish and run down (we moved the the Contemporary the next day). I really want to try Pop and AoA but I dont know if I will be ale to get dh into another value from our experience. And I want to stay at every resort!!:rotfl:

i was looking at the FD specials yesterday and it said it does not apply to suites -- except for family suites. In other words, the ASMU family suites SHOULD be available (unless they're all sold out)

CerysG. I booked at the very beginning of the Free Dining for Canadians August 2011 for this August 2012. It may be that all the rooms available are snatched up quickly and therefore when others try to book they are told that the suites are not available. When the suites first came out they were not included in the free dining promotions but they are now (just very limited availability). I too was thinking of two rooms at a value but when I found I could get a suite I jumped at it. Bedroom with a door and a queen bed for us, I couldn't resist the extra little bit it cost.

Pop has been our favorite. Very clean, nice rooms. Great food court. Very Disney, IMO. Definitely have to fit in an AoA trip at some point!!!! Those LM rooms look awesome! :goodvibes

CerysG. Just saw the suites not included post on this website. It was a different promotion that I originally booked under and there wasn't the restriction there is now. Keep an eye on the Boards. Free Dining will likely be offered about a year out with perks you won't see available later. I guess it was an early booking bonus.

We have stayed at Music and Movies (two times at each resort) and we have only shared a bus once...and that was when we left a park early one day. At opening and closing, each resort has their own bus so we have never found the fact that they share buses a problem. The time that we did share a bus, it stopped at Sports, then Music, then Movies. It was quick and painless since the bus was only half full. We love both of these resorts. Toy Story is our favorite section at Movies and the Broadway section is our favorite at Music. We found that Music has a smaller, quieter feel to it.
