Would luggage services at a value resort be willing to store an ECV during the day? I'm just considering our options and a family member is thinking that they may be able to do short park days without an EVC but would appreciate the use of one at the resort upon returning.
unlikely since they are also holding ones for people coming in and storing ones for people who have left them behind at the end of their trip. just store it in your room
WDW has a 'preferred vendor' policy as they are limited in space for ECV storage. I doubt they would let you leave an ECV because of this. Also, I would be afraid that the ECV would get damaged, and there'd be no way to prove how it happened and you'd end up liable for the damage. If it was in your room, it would be out of the way and mousekeeping wouldn't bother with it.
I guess I'm not following the train of thought that an ECV would be needed between the room and the bus (or luggage assistance) but the guest would be able to walk around the parks even for a few hours. The value resorts aren't really all that huge, especially compared to some of the more sprawling resorts, and if you get a preferred room you'd hopefully be near the bus stop. In fact, depending on which resort and where your room is located, luggage services could be the opposite direction from (or further past) the bus stop - which means this person would ride the ECV to luggage services and then backtrack walking to the bus stop. I find there is much more walking in the parks, even to/from the bus stops at the parks, than there is around the resort unless simply going out for a stroll to see the grounds of the resort.
