Sorry in advance because I know I have seen this thread posted a billion times before.

I am planning a quick weekend getaway for my birthday in January and am looking to stay at one of the value resorts.

Are there differences between them and if so can you please share them? I love to exercise, but I don't think any of them have an exercise room. Do any of them have walking trails? Are some in better locations? Are some cleaner? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

My fave value is Pop Century because it is newer, has a great restaurant and gift shop, and even has a walking path around the lake (which I used for jogging). I vote for POP!

Pop is great, but has more rooms, thus more people than AS aports. music and movies. I vote for Sports! The rooms are all the same size and set up, but the food court and gift shop at POP are bigger and have more choices than the AS....

The values are really about theming. Room wise, amenities wise, they are basically identical. Pop is newer, however, All Star Music has had a recent refurb and has the fewest kids around as a general rule. They all have food courts, outdoor bus ques, pools without slides or hottubs and the rooms are identical in size and layout.

The icons/theming is where they differ. So take a look at the slide shows on www.allearsnet.com and see which one appeals to you in that department. And they all have nice paths that are great places to walk and jog. And Pop does have the lake which is nice. If the theming is not that big with you, I would probably say either Pop or All Star Music since they both are newer in one form or another. You cannot go wrong! I have stayed at all of them, and the rooms have all been super clean, no issues there. The grounds aren't lush but they are very pretty and well kept. All of the values have quiet pools which can often be a bit more relaxing and better for actual swimming.

All Star Music is my favorite Disney owned hotel.

Please see my info thread for the resons why I enjoy All Star Music so much.

----------------------------------------------------------
Here is a list of differences between Pop and the All Star resorts.

Pop is newer.
Pop was built in 2003.
All Star Movies was built in 1999.
All Star Sports and Music were built in 1994.

All Star Music has undergone a refurbishment of all of the rooms and was completed in June 2007.

All Star Sports is slated to be refurbished between June 2007 and Feb. of 2008.

Pop has a lake. The All Stars do not have a lake.

When staying at the All Stars you use any of the All Stars pools.
The 3 All Stars are within easy walking distance of each other.

The gift shops are separate from the food court at the All Stars.
The gift shop and food court are combined at Pop.

Pop has 2,880 guest rooms. 4 floors in each building.
Each of the All Stars has 1,960 rooms. 3 floors in each building.

Both Pop and the All Star rooms are 260 square feet.

The beds at the All Stars are movable.

the beds at Pop at bolted to the floor.

The far bed at an All Star is closer to wall. And the near bed is not as close to the doorway as it is at Pop

The far bed at Pop is pulled away from the wall more. The near bed is closer to door.

For most people that would not make a difference but since I need an ECV
the bed being so near the door at Pop makes it more difficult for me to back my EVC in. :moped:

Have fun at Disney wherever you choose to stay!:wizard:

I have no experience with any of the All Stars but I can give a thumbs up to POP, I've stayed there a couple of times and we are staying there again coming up in December and really enjoy it. While the food court and shop can be a little crazy but, I enjoy alot of the action going on there. I think the rooms are plenty large enough and our experience with bus service has always been good. :wave2:

we've stayed at all 3 All Stars, as well as the new Pop Century

personally, we prefer the new Pop Century

we like the theming, the layout of the gift shop/food court, and the food choices in the food court are better than the other values

I would vote for any of the All Stars over Pop.

I have stayed at All Star Movies (several times) and Pop Century, and I can tell you that I will never even consider Pop as a choice again. The main reason was the noise, you could hear everything in the rooms around yours, and it seemed like you could hear all the toilets flushing in whole building. I know others love it there, this is just my experience, but it was a first and last visit for me.

As for which All Star, I would pick the one that has a theme that you would enjoy. Other than that, they are all the same. They are a great value for what you get in my opinion.

pop is the biggest value resort there,,,its packed all the time...long waits at food court ,,busses,,and elevators in the morning..long walks to any thing and everything there,,allstars is smaller cozier,,3 floors ..not as long a wait time as pop..but its up to you..do a split and see them both..its disney
