OK I booked a last minute 1 night birthday trip to Disney (because i am nearing a meltdown in my soul sucking job) and can get a room at one of the all star resorts for $95. IS IT OK? I am a hilton team member and can stay off property for $35 - but then no magical express, no fast pass. I figured staying cheap would be OK for just one night (I am not spending nay time in the room except to sleep) - is it worth the extra $$ to go moderate? I "usually" stay at a deluxe resort and will be at yacht club in december. Just want something cheap but don;t want to spend a long time waiting for busses which is what I am reading. Just trying to figure out what to expect, the crowd level does not seem too bad sunday (yes this sunday!) Thanks in advance for any input. I stayed off property before and it definitely wasn't as magical

You can book fast pass staying off site. You just have to wait until 30 days prior, which for you doesn't matter.
Are you flying or driving? You mention magical express. I think you are actually referring to the resort buses around the property, but I just want to make sure.

ETA: Happy birthday!

It's a small, outside entry room with (somewhat childish) over the top themeing.

But if you just need a place to crash for the night ... you are still at Disney with MDE, Disney transportation, Disney security, Disney landscaping...

If you weren't going to parks, and spending more time at the resort..then the upgrade might be worth more.

Magical express is from the airport - if I stay off property I would have to pay for a shuttle or something

I've stayed at the All Stars many times. They are more than just fine for a night. If you are worried about noise ask for a room on the back side of a building. Once your go around the corner from the front the back rooms are very quiet.

And which of the value resorts would be the best, or are they pretty much equal. I am most concerned about the wait for the buses

Between paying for airport transfer and transportation to parks, you might as well stay on property. I've stayed at ASSports and ASMu and I enjoyed ASMu more. Not fancy, but for one night totally doable. Just note there are no hot tubs at values!! Have fun celebrating.

$60 difference. I assume since you mentioned ME you will have no car. Add up the cost of transportation to/from your resort and depending on which Hilton, the shuttle availability. AllStars are absolutely fine for one night. We prefer Sports (all adults).

No cooties, I Promise.

I don't understand all the "will it be okay" and "How bad is it?" type questions. This is not a fleabag motel with a vibrating bed that you put quarters in. Yes, the rooms are small and they are not fancy, but they are clean and comfortable.

As for the buses, I've had better luck with buses at Pop and All Stars than I did with AKL and Boardwalk.

I just posted on another thread about how I scored crazy good airfare over a long weekend and booked All Stars Music.

We were in the parks two long days and basically slept and showered at the All Stars, and it was totally, completely fine. We had a clean room and the full Disney transportation system for a low price. Zero complaints. :)
