Just a reminder, CBR has 7 bus stops, if you don't mind such a big resort. POFQ has 1 and shares with POR's 4 bus stops but POFQ goes first.

We stayed at POR twice in April & shared buses with POFQ once. So buses at really a mon issue. There's so much to do at POR that when we go in October we are planning down days at the resort this time. There's also outdoors movies too.

Moderate for sure. But if I'm going to pay moderate prices, then I want the queen size bed and not a full. CBR hasn't been on our list because of that.

Well if you didn't really care for the value last time. Nothing has changed. So go with a moderate if you think that is a better choice.

If I were going to upgrade I'd upgrade to a less expensive deluxe like AKL!:goodvibes (So I voted stay value and save money --for a future trip LOL!)

Have fun wherever you stay!

CBR would give you more room and a great pool so if that is important to you go for it.

While the price difference between deluxes and the mods are HUGE, the price difference between the values and the mods just never seems worth the downgrade to me. I'd much rather have nicer pools, lush landscaping, bigger rooms, queen beds, etc than stay at a value. POFQ is lovely. I've never stayed at either POR or POFQ, but I have stayed at CSR several times and I love it!

On a previous trip we did POP for 2 nights then the rest at POFQ.

My teens really appreciated the space and beds at POFQ over POP. The rooms at POP felt really cramped to us.

Plus, the buses at POFQ were so easy. It's a small resort and we really like that.

I would actually cut the trip one day short and use the money for the mod. If you were looking at three pool days, cut that back to two. Three pool days out of nine is really a lot. I know that even though my kids love hanging out by the pool for a couple hours here and there, they would NOT want to be at WDW and be spending so much time not at the parks! Two pool days on that length trip is more than enough. Then you'll get the upgrade you want, too.

The way I see it, you're spending so much for the vacation already, that if you can, splurging for a nicer hotel can be worth it.

Having said that, your own financial situation is the most important thing to keep in mind. And you've already stayed in value resorts, so you know what you'd be getting into.

Have fun in your vacation! :goodvibes pixiedust:

We did values last year and really spent very little time in the room so when Free Dining came out this year we booked value again. Even with upgrading to DDP we saved several hundred over a mod. That's a lot of souvenirs so for me it was an easy choice.

Since we go for a long time. It adds up for us to upgrade to a moderate is almost 1000.00. So that statement isn't always true. There is many factors that go into cost of someone vacation,

Sigh. You people are no help at all. :rotfl2:

Cutting down a day is NOT an option. I'd sleep in my car if it meant another day there! :)

Finances aren't TOO much of an issue. I mean, we're saving what we save ... whatever we save on the resort will just be spent somewhere else on vacation.

But a very good point - last time we said we'd do a mod, so if we get a free dining offer, we should just suck it up and book a moderate.

I guess I should clarify that when I say "pool days", it doesn't necessarily mean the pool. It's more "rest day" I guess. Non-park days. We'll be going to DD one day, maybe do DQ or something. Another day we'll maybe do a dinner show at a resort. Not sure yet, but my husband and kid swim at our lake in April in New Hampshire, November in Florida is not a problem for them! :)

I'd actually throw in the option of renting DVC. I have priced these out and rented on recent trips. the studios are pretty comparable with the moderates and much nicer. Availability could be an issue though.

If you know you're going to be spending three days at the resort, this seems like a good trip to enjoy the moderate upgrade. I stayed at CBR a few years ago and thought it was very beautiful. They were redoing the main pool while I was there but I've heard that its great, and is really appealing to those with kids.
