Is it worth paying the extra $ for a moderate resort if I am going in Dec. and not planning on using pools and will not be at the resort very much ?

Thanks

Personally, for me, yes. That goes for any season. However, if you are really only planning on sleeping there and not using the amenities of the hotel, then it might not be worth it for your family to choose a value. You might consider what you'd use the extra money for if you choose a value instead.

It was well worth my extra $400 to stay at a moderate. Less hotel feeling and more resort feeling. Buses were better too.

For us, the kids like the value better so that is where we stay. If it was just adults or older kids, than I would choose a moderate. I did not find that the difference was that huge.

No, it's definitely not worth it. IMO. I've stayed at CBR, POFQ and POP and the difference in room size is just not worth it to me. Mods also have hot tubs which I never use. If your not spending much time in your room I'd definitely go for POP. You'll be surprised at how much you love it!!!

My teenagers did not like POR at all, begged me to never book there again. They liked All-Stars so much better. In their words "There are no cute boys here" We typically went when All-Stars was having some kind of sports competion (not on purpose) and bunches of teenage boys.

For us its Value or Deluxe there is no in between.

I prefer the values.

I like the food courts at the values for a quick grab and go breakfast on the way to the parks.

I like the fact I can pay for a preferred location and know I will be close to the main pool. food court, and bus stop.

I enjoy the theming at the values. I love seeing the children having fun getting squirted by Three Caballeros (Donald and friends) at the All Star Music pool.

BTW:

All Star Music is my favorite resort. It tends to be the quietest of all the values.

All Star Music just underwent a refurbishment of all of the rooms and was completed in June 2007.

Here is a website with photos of the newly refurbished rooms at All Star Music.

Look at the Jazz Inn section with new posted:

Please see my info thread for more of the reasons why I enjoy All Star Music so much.

Mods vs. values:

POFQ is not as spread out as the other mods or the values.

POR CBR and CSR are very spread out.

The Values are laid out closer together.

The mods have pool slides, a hot tub and a sit down restaurant (POFQ doses not have a sit down restaurant but shares with POR.

There is not much room size difference between a mod and a value.

Here is the layout of a mod.
The bathroom is about the same size as the All Stars but you will have 2 sinks instead of one.

The mod has 54 square feet more than the value.
That means if both the mod and the value room were 27 feet long than the mod would be 2 feet wider. Just enough room for a double sink instead of a single.

There is not a lot of room size difference.

The theming at the values are fun and bright.
Little ones just love them.

Have fun at Disney!:wizard:
