I'm not sure if this is the right forum for this question, so please forgive me in advance if it's not! I'm kind of just wondering if the value of pins increases over time.

We were on DCL in December and I bought a limited edition pin. (I should mention that I'm not much of a pin collector/trader, I just thought it was a neat pin.) I have recently noticed these pins selling for quite a bit on Ebay and am trying to decide whether to sell mine. On one hand, it would help fund my next WDW vacation, but I don't want to sell it if it might be worth twice as much next year.

Can anyone share their experience on whether the value of pins continues to increase over time?

That is an age old question.
If I have it, it probably will decrease in value. As soon as it is out of my possession the value quadruples! Same for incoming. The value lessens as soon as I own it. :jester:
But seriuosly, it is hard to tell. Sometimes they sell high right afterwards and plummet in price later. Sometimes they keep on rising.
Just go with what works best for you and what you want to do.
Good luck. :)

Lol...I traded a pin recently and just saw a comment on pinpics today about that pin, that claims it's worth $500. You can let it upset you, or you can just keep going, realizing that you didn't pay $500 so it's okay. And in my case, it couldn't have gone to a nicer, more deserving person.

Hi! It is so hard to tell someone to hold on to a pin or to sell it.

Everyone has their own set of "Value" for pins. For example, I am a Beauty & the Beast fanatic, so I probably value those pins higher and may be willing to pay any price - if I am looking for a particular B & B pin.

But there are other people who won't spend a penny on B & B pins - because they don't care for them.

Pin Value is subjective - Is value what you actually paid? Is value how much you are willing to spend? Is value the same for each pin? I would have to answer - Not really to all of these questions.

When trying to decide whether to sell or trade a pin - Ask yourself, will I be happy with the results I get?

If that pin is going for a pretty good price, and you would be happy to get that much money (or close to that) than I say Go For It! You never know what tomorrow will bring -

I hope this helped, and did not confuse you more. Best of Luck!
