Our last trip to DW was in 99 and we had 5 day park hopper tickets with 3 or 4 extras per ticket that did not get used. These tickets were discounted thru Goodyear. I have not been able to locate the old tickets (they were the paper kind), but before I tear the house apart, does anyone know if they have any value for a trip this year? We want to go in November on a "grandma wants to pay for it all trip" and just get the basic tickets without extras or hopper privledges. Thanks for any information any of you may have.

:cool1:

If the basic hopping was fully used, and all that remains are the "Plus" features they would figure a dollar value for that. They would then apply that value against the $45 current charge per ticket for Plus features.

If all the hopping days were not used, they would calulate the remaining value and use that to apply to the $35 hopper option. In this case purchase of a hopper would be mandatory.

In both circumstances, if there was money left over after applying to the $35 and/or $45, they would then apply any overage to the basic ticket.

If there were only Plus features remaining, you might be able to use it at a turnstyle or could trade it in for a new (magnetic stripe) ticket only valid for the plus features.

I was always under the impression that the plus features have no value toward purchasing a new ticket. You are probably better off just using the tickets to get into the water parks, etc.

The only way to know for sure is to go to guest services at one of the parks. They can scan the tickets and tell you what they would be worth toward the purchase of new tickets. Since you have to wait until you are there, you can't advance purchase to save money, so I would again guess you are just better off using the plus features as is.

If all you have left unused are the plus options, your ticket is not exchangeable or upgradeable. You can use it as is until the plus options are gone but that's it.

There's no applying this amount to the hopper option and that amount to the MPP option on any transaction with Disney. The dollar value of any old ticket is subtracted as a total amount from the price of the new ticket. And you cannot split a ticket to apply the theme park days to a new ticket and have unused plus visits put on another ticket for you to use. You will lose any unused visits.

Okay, so thats not all bad news....if I can find the tickets! I know there are no park days left on them, but I am particularly interested in the "extras". We don't want to go to the water parks, but would like to go to PI. Would those admissions cover DQ for my sons?

Anyway, you've been most helpful, so I guess I'll start looking for the tickets! I now realize my question was misleading. I didn't think I had money value in the old tickets, but just wanted to use the admissions.

Sorry, Plusses from old Park Hopper Plus passes cannot be used for DisneyQuest admission.

Each Plus can be used for admission to either a water park, Pleasure Island, or Disney's Wide World of Sports complex.

Maybe this is in the category of "If I knew earlier. . ." but, I make a xerox copy of the back of my tickets. If you have the number (like a UPC code) from the tickets Disney can use it's computer tracking and verify how many plusses or day's admissions you have remaining even if you can't find the actual ticket. Since I'm prone to misplacing things, I always make a copy of new tickets and file it.

Another question then on old hopper passes. The last poster mentioned having Disney check the codes on the back of the tickets, does this have to be done in the disney parks or can this be verified on the phone? I am pretty sure what amount we have left on our old tickets but it would be nice to know for sure.

Nope, there is absolutely no place, no way, no how to check old tickets except at a ticket window or Guest Services at one of the WDW theme parks or Downtown Disney.
