Has anyone done Mickey's Backyard BBQ? Is it worth the cost?

It is rather pricey, and with it being in an outdoor pavilion, I just don't know how enjoyable it would be in the summer when it is offered.

We are finishing up plans for a trip later this month - and I was thinking about possibly booking this, but just unsure!

Anyone have any opinions? Reviews?

Thanks!

We did it for the first time last September and really enjoyed it!
It was really hot when we were waiting in line to go into the Pavillion but they had CMs passing out lemonade and fruit punch. Once we got seated, it wasn't too bad (shaded and I think the sun was starting to go down).
The food wasn't fabulous but it was ok and plentiful. Hamburgers, hot dogs, ribs. AND all the Mickey ice cream bars that you can eat!!
The show was corny but fun for all ages. If you know Scoop from MK, his "cousin" is in the show  (if you know Scoop and see the show you will understand)
If you have kids, there is great interaction with the characters away from the main stage. If I remember right, they were in the back corners of the pavillion. (sort of like one of the dance parties)

Mickey BBQ was always about one-half the price of the
Hoop Dee Do Review. With the popularity of DDP, they jumped the
price to double, including 2-TS coupons. NO CHANGE IN MENUS,
NO CHANGE IN CHARACTERS. NO CHANGES AT ALL. Cost was
barely justified at lower prices, and not worth the current price.

We went once and would never go again. The food is all right, nothing special and the communal seating was a pain. Also, the dancing with characters was a real nightmare .. moms with cameras running over other kids to take pictures, etc. There's a reason most people leave early..

We did the BBQ and it was hot! Outdoor picnic style under a shelter with picnic food and mickey bars for dessert. The entertainment was the dance with characters which at the time our DD was 10 and most of the kids dancing were a lot younger. We did the Spirit of Aloha and Hoop Dee Do Review as well (which were the same price I don't know about now) but they were hands down a better value for food and entertainment.
