Can anyone tell me what is a 'value' 1 b edrrom at Kidani may be like? I am trying to extend my points as far as I can and this category will help me do that. Just what makes it a 'value'? We are new DVC members.

Thanks a bunch,
Stacy in PA

The Values only exist in Jambo House. They are about 3 feet shorter than the other villas at Jambo House.

Another difference is that the value 1 bedrooms do not have the sleeper chair, so they only accomodate 4, not the 5 that the other 1 bedrooms at either Jambo or Kidani can.

With the value 1 bedroom, you can have a view of parking lot/vegetation, the pool, or the savannah. I've had a value 1 bedroom with 3 adults and it was a great bargain!

value villas are only at jambo and there are only a few of them, relatively speaking. so you'd need to be ok with staying at jambo and book early to be sure to get one.

Also, the 1BRs in Jambo House do not have the second bathroom. Only the AKV/Kidani 1BRs have that additional bathroom. So the Value 1BRs in Jambo House have lower occupancy (no sleeper chair), are smaller (the room is about 3 feet shorter and has a narrower balcony) and have just one bathroom across a small hallway from the master bedroom. As stated there are not very many of them and being such a great bargain they go fast.

That was a huge huge deal in deciding to stay at Kidani for our 10 nights in August. We have two girls ages 14 & 11 so having two bathrooms was super important to us. It'll save a lot of time and yelling.

We stayed in a value two bedroom in December, which is just a one-bedroom with an attached studio. You can see pictures of our room and the view of the pool (there are other views, such as the parking lot) at this link. The pictures that apply would be the living room, dining room, and the master bedroom and bathroom. Ignore the pictures of the studio side since you would not have access to that.

Our home resort is not AKV, so getting value accommodations in December was a problem. I don't know when you're hoping to go, but plan to call at 7 months and be flexible. Regarding the room, the biggest difference, also mentioned by a PP, was that there would only be one bathroom. I don't know if that makes a difference to you. By the way, the one night that we had a savana view room at Jambo House was fantastic. I understand the need to conserve points, but if I'd known how much fun it would be to sit on the balcony and watch the animals during the day and night, we would have stayed there the whole time. Apparently, some of the value rooms have a savanna view, but you can't guarantee it. Frankly, if you don't have a savanna view room AKV is just like the other DVC resorts. The savanna views are truly unique.
