We are going to be at the Mall of America for DS 13th birthday the weekend of Sept. 13. We have heard of this amusement park Valleyfair that is supposed to be near there. Is it worth going to for a 13 year old that likes roller coasters? The price seems right- $27 for a late-season discount. Has anybody ever been there? thanks!

Valley Fair is a nice small park. A lot of it is geared for the younger set though. they have 4 roller coasters with the biggest being the Wild thing. Its a 200 foot drop so I'm not stupid enough to put myself on it.

Try this website http://valleyfair.com/index.cfm

I know theat there are coupons available and if you want and they are still valid I can send you some.

I'm not the "younger set", but I love Valley Fair... Kejoda is right, there are 4 rollercoasters, and the Power Tower (which either shoots you up, or drops you down 275 ft). I absolutely love both the Power Tower, and the Wild Thing (and I am BRAVE enough to put myself on it ;) ). I also have coupons if you need some.

Heidi my word was not brave.;) LOL

We do love valley fair too but we have small kids.

Spent my honeymoon at Valleyfair 25 years ago. It's a fun park, small yes, but there's plenty of excitement there to fill the day......

Enjoy!

Used to LOVE ValleyFair. We only live about 5 miles from the park, and both our kids worked there growing up. I must admit though, I haven't been there for a few years. I LOVE the old wooden coaster there ( High Roller) and the corkscrew and Wild Thing are fun too, but most everything else is pretty mild. They have one coaster I don't care for. It is called Excalibur, and has a small dip in it that always snaps my neck, so I don't do that one much anymore. They also have a nice water park, but I am not sure how much it is open in September. I know the park is only open on weekends after school starts.
