i'm leaning towards valet parking at US this time around as a treat for ourselves. is there usually a long wait time at pick-up or drop-off? (we're going next week, fri & mon, 3/23 & 3/26, before 9 a.m. & will leave after 3 p.m.

There is no wait for dropoff usually. The wait for pick up depends on the crowds at the park. At that time it should be okay, but once the parks close and Mardi Gras is over.....forget it, you're looking at a 10-20 minute wait, which isnt terrible as you you can usually get a seat somewhere.

We've done pickup twice during Mardi Gras and is wasn't more than 10 mins. at most. Definitely beats that loooooooong garage walk!

They also have more people working on busy nights so that helps somewhat. You should look at a 5 minute wait most of the time unless you head that way at park closing during one of the busy times/events.

i read this somewhere... but it close 10 to park in the parking lot and 16? for valet parking? which to me is worth the extra 6 bucks to be able to drop off and go into the park and then not be so tired crawling to the car... anyways it is around 16 right?

thanks!

When I was there last weekend it was $18. We go so frequently I juat renewed/upgraded my anual pass to the one that has free valet. We figure it will pay for itself after just a few visits! I agree, the valet is worth every $ even when we have paid the total amount!

the is a downside for me when it comes to valet parking.. what if you wanted to keep stuff in your car that you might need throughout the day.. .like snacks and stuff... if you park valet you can't go back to your car huh?

anyways im just saying.. i think i might do the valet parking the first day...

Do y'all tip the person who takes the car and the one who returns it? $1 for each, or $2 for each? I tip both but hubby thinks I'm nuts.

It depends on how much you want to tip. The valet at the onsite hotels typically "pool" tips which means that the person you are tipping splits that with the other attendants. I would think that would carry over to the parks.

I always ask if they pool tips when i drop my car off just to be sure.

Also - if you tip when you drop your car off, they will normally write that down on your ticket. That way, the person bringing your car back knows that you tipped on the front end. Now they may or may not still expect something....but that is a different discussion.
