Valet Parking

And don't forget the tip. We tip about $2 both ways, dropping off and picking up.

Most times $2, sometimes $3, sometimes $1. Just depends. Once my husband gave the valet two bills - a $1 and a $20. I could have killed him afterward. He didn't look at the money, just gave it to the valet.

Well, not to be cheap, but I'll probably never give them a $21 tip!! I'll make sure to look at the bills first and not use any with zeros on them! :cool1: Can't wait til next trip - 1st time to SSR (as owners) and CP at EPCOT! :Pinkbounc

Once you pay for valet parking, they will give you a ticket that can be used at any of the other valet parking areas for the day. That way you only have to pay once a day but can utilize any of them. Tips still apply though.

Unless ofcourse, you believe that the valets dont need to be tipped as they are employees of the resort :rotfl: :rotfl2:

Oh gosh. It's not even funny joking about that. :duck:

It's actually pretty easy to remember: Valets, bell staff, restaurant waiters -- the cost of service (valet parking fee, hotel room rate, menu price) is based on the expectation that you will tip them appropriately. Everyone else, do as you see fit.

If you have Disney Dining Experience and you are going to eat at one of the restaurants in the resort it is free though. ( Well free except for tip ;) )

Wait....you mean it's only $7 for a 24 hour period of valet parking or $7/hour???? I find it hard to believe that Disney is going to charge me $9 to park my car in the boondocks of any of the park parking lots, but only $7 to have someone else park my car for me (plus the $4 in tip, I guess)?

If so, I'm valet parking EVERYWHERE!
LOL
THANKS
C

Yes..its true :sunny:
Its only $7 for the whole day pixiedust: I actually called the CR myself with this query a couple of days ago!
you don't have to an onsite guest either...and as you are paying you can leave the car in one resort all day or you can hop to another resort later in the day. :thumbsup2

THANKS! We have a Wishes cruise out of the GF one night when we are there, so I was all worried about how we were going to possibly get back to the park's lot to get cars after, but I think the valet parking option sounds like a great idea!

We also were planning on doing the BeachsNCream place, so good to know that we can drive to the Boardwalk instead of figuring out how to hoof it there.

THANKS
Chris

Just a few years back, valet parking was actually free at the resorts (other than tips, of course)! I remember when they instituted the fee (then $6), many posters on this and other boards were up in arms that Disney would charge for such a thing. As a result, I now find it amusing that a couple posters can't believe that valet parking is "only" $7 (not poking fun at those posters; it is just interesting how times and perspective change).

Your welcome :sunny:
Its a useful tip...for only $7..I plan to valet a few times on my trip even though Iam on site. It will come in handy. We are having dinner at ohana one night so we will probably valet then as its EMH in the MK so we will monorail in after dinner and then pick up the car after wishes. :thumbsup2

Yep....that's me the "only $7" person! Truth is, we have NEVER stayed on site in the trips to WDW, so we usually avoid the resorts. But NOW I know all the good eats and stuff at the resorts, so gotta give 'em a looksee!

THANKS AGAIN

If you are a DVC member, valet parking is free at the DVC resorts. Except for tip. Call me crazy I've never heard of tipping a valet when you drop your car off. Only when you pick it up.

All of the deluxe resorts have signs when you enter the parking lot that they cannot provide parking for the theme parks. If you plan to go to the MK after dining, you really need to move your car to the TTC after you finish dining. You may get a 3 hour or 2 hour parking pass to cover the time while you are dining. After that, you could be towed.

Please leave the resort parking to those staying at the resort or using the services of the resort.

Deb and Bill...we are not doing anything wrong by valet parking.
The fact is this IS an option for non resort guests. Iam aware of the signs that are up but that is for the regular car lot NOT valet parking.
It is not breaking any rule whatsoever to PAY for valet and then go into the park.
I have verified this myself with the CR and so have other posters.
Just wanted to clarify if anyone is confused. :)
