Valet Parking?

I have never had valet parking before, but have read that parking at the Poly can get tight so I thought that maybe I would try it.

How much is it a day? How much should I tip? Should I tip both coming and going? etc.

I may be wrong but I believe valet is about $12.00 per day. What is neat is that once you pay for the day (they put a colored Mickey valet tag on your dashboard), you can valet at any resort for no extra charge. Nice if you are going to another resort to eat, etc.

You can also call ahead from your room for the car and it will be ready when you walk out front. We always tip coming and going - usually $2.00 each time. However, usually when you call ahead, the valet desk just has your keys and an envelope stating who pulled your car around and you leave the tip with desk.

I'ts not $12/day. It's $6 or maybe $7, but not $12. We tip $2 each way, more if the weather's really bad or we have luggage or something else to deal with.

Anne's right. It is $6.00 a day (just pulled WL tag off my dash - sigh!). Really a good deal compared to other deluxe hotels where it can be $12 - $15 a day.

I just called the Poly directly and they said $6 a day and tips are accepted. Also found out that I can request nightly turn down service as well, sounds like a nice touch to end the day.

That may be true at places where tips are pooled. They are not pooled at WDW------and the person who parks your car does just a much as the one who brings it back...IMHO, common sense says tip both ways at WDW

I always tip coming and going, too. They work equally hard to move your car.

I just gathered up 3 or 4 of those colored Mickey tags from my back seat yeaterday .. sigh .. you almost hate throwing that kinda stuff away.
