As a DVC member how does valet parking work? Is it free and you just pay a tip? How much does everyone usually pay?

Valet parking is normally $8. I do tip when I valet my car as a DVC member.

Valet parking is free for DVC members only at the DVC resorts that offer it - BCV - BWV & VWL. If you valet at any of the other WDW resorts, you should expect to pay.

We tip $2-$3 on both drop off and pick up, more if it's raining or the valet helps with luggage.

Best wishes -

So Parking at the GF is 8:00?

AFAIK: Valet parking is $8 wherever offered on property.

Self-parking is free at all WDW resorts.

As bicker posted, the price of valet parking is $8 at all of the WDW resorts. However, DVC members do not pay the $8 charge at BWV, BCV or VWL. They do pay the $8 if they choose to use the valet parking service at the GF, Poly, and all of the other non-DVC resorts that offer it.

Sorry, one more question. We are eating at park fare and would rather not pay the valet parking. Is the self parking a close distance to where we will be eating? Thanks so much!

It is across the street from the entry of the resort. No more than 4 or 5 minutes of walking. I'd probably elect to do self-parking, just for the exercise, except in the rain, in which case I'd consider it too far to walk.

If my in laws are coming in the last 3 days of our stay can they get the valet parking a NC since they will be staying with us??

Yes, however with one execption: The charge for valet is wavied if you hold a valid DDE card and are going to a resort or park for a meal.

That should be no problem, so long as they are staying in the same unit with you and listed on the resservation.

Isn't the self parking lot at GF gated and requires a room key to get in? Or maybe I was just looking at the wrong place.

If you are going to 1900 Park Faire, you could always park at the TTC and ride the monorail around to GF.

Keep in mind, though, that this means that anything you're required to pay for "your entire party" would have to be paid for your in-laws as well. This means you would have to pay for dining plan for them for the entire duration of your trip.

What would be better, if you are facing that, is to either split your reservation into two separate reservations, or call the resort and negotiate a special exception for yourself. Make sure you get this in writing, though, and please don't be surprised if they aren't willing to grant your request.

Yes valet parking is free for DVC members at every DVC resort that offers valet parking (that would be BCV, BWV, VWL...I don't think SSR does valet and I know OKW doesn't).

Yes, we still do tip when they take or bring back the car. usually $2.

I read on the DVC member board in the perk section that you can pay once to valet park during your stay and the rest of the times are free. It also states that it is free at BCV, BWV and VWL.

I would not have thought you would need to valet park at SSR as the car parks are so close to your rooms it would be like valet parking outside your house.

You can pay to valet park once per day, and then the rest of the times that day are free.

There is no valet parking at SSR or OKW. As bicker noted, you only pay ONCE a day for valet parking. So if you pay to valet park at YC, and then go over to GF that same day, you just show your receipt from valet parking at YC. You still need to tip the valets at the next resort.

Do you people who tip $2 or $3 for in and out tip that much when you're paying the $8 per day at the resorts, too? Or just when you're getting the parking for free at DVC locations?

I'm starting to wonder if I've been cheap at the resorts giving $1 tip each for in and out when no luggage is involved.

Standard tip for valet parking is $2 when picking up the vehicle.
