We are going to Jiko for the first time for dinner with ressies at 6 PM before our 9 PM Cirque show. I want to be sure we have enough time so we will be driving from SSR instead of taking disney transportation. Is there valet parking at AK if you have dinner reservations? Thanks!!!!

There is valet parking at AKL for Jiko. The cost is $10, unless you have a DDE/TiW card or are a DVC member - then it's free.

Great news! Thanks so much and I am DVC so that's even better!!

I wanted to chime in about the free DVC valet parking. You can only get it at resorts that have DVC villas as part of the resort. That's why DVC members can park free for dining at Jiko. Because AKL has the villas. Same with Beach Club, Boardwalk and Wilderness Lodge, too. You can get free valet there when you show them the card.

DVC Members don't get free valet at non-DVC resorts. So if you had reservations at Kona or 'Ohana, you'd have to pay for valet.

And just be sure to check your room charges when you check out at SSR to be sure the valet parking charge wasn't added to the bill. Valet parking is outsourced and one little scam they often play is to scan your resort parking permit and then add it to your bill on the last day of your stay. That happened to us 3 times already.

If you're in a hurry, I would probably just park it myself rather than do valet as that won't save you much time. We eat at Jiko a lot and have never had a problem finding a parking space. It's not like the Grand Floridian where you have to park across the street...the lot is right there, so even if you're parked pretty far down it's not a biggie. It wouldn't be any more time than waiting for the valet to fill out the paper when you arrive and then to retrieve the car. We get free valet with our DDE but we only ever use it if there's a rainstorm.

Hi Uncle...
You are so right. We have had the same problem...valet charging us when they are not suppose to.
