Valet at the Contemporary?

We won't have an ADR here. I just want to avoid the cluter*&^ at the end of the night of fireworks. We are going in Sept, so low crowds. There will also be MNSSHP, so the fireworks will only be 3-4 nights the week we'll be there. I read a few people say that they were turned away from valet parking at Contemporary. Has anyone had this experience? Is it only during very busy times?
We are staying at the AOA, so we'll take the bus on one day, but I'd like to valet park at Contemporary the next day. We have an ADR at Crystal Palace for pre-park opening breakfast that morning, if that makes any difference.
Should I just suck it up and take the bus, expecting a long wait that night? Or risk getting turned away from the Contemporary too and be late for our ADR?

Yes. I believe if you are visiting the MK, you are encouraged to park at the TTC. I had dinner reservations on the 3rd of July at the Polynesian one year, and I had to show proof of reservation to just park in the lot. During busy times, you usually aren't permitted to valet or park unless you are dining or staying at the resort to which you want to park. There's been a lot of back and forth on this.

We just tried this last week and were told that they have become a lot more strict and no longer allow non-guests to VP at the Contemporary unless you have a meal there. It was not a super-busy week (most spring breaks were over)--this seems to be the new standard policy.

OK. That is good to know. Here I thought I would be all sneaky and smart (though I would have to pay extra and tip)! :) I think we'll be taking the bus then and just waiting for the crowds to leave/shopping so that we aren't waiting forever in line outside.

That's a better plan. :thumbsup2

Just this past Friday I tried to valet at the CR at 7:15am but the guard told me to go back to the TC and park there. When he asked why I was looking for the valet I said we had a breakfast reservation and he was about to let us pass but I stupidly added at Magic Kingdom (because someone else had used that reason recently and been let in and I preferred not to lie). I did try to make a case for valet by saying I would be late for my ADR and he told me to go park in the CR lot and to move my car after breakfast. I would have gladly paid for valet but figured I better just take what he was offering and avoid having to go back to the TC. We did move the car when we took a mid day break and paid to park at the TC later that night when we returned. I have to say that at 6pm re-arrival and leaving at 1am the monorail to the TC was perfectly convenient and fast. I would not want to attempt it if leaving after Wishes or trying to arrive for RD.

Yeah, but it kind of sucks. I was looking forward to eating at Contempo Cafe for dinner. Looking at Robo's map, it looks like the buses are near there? Would that still be relatively convenient?

Personally, we always take our car. Park at the TTC and either monorail or ferry to MK for early ADR. Then one of the best tips I every got was to take the ferry back to TTC after the fireworks it really holds TONS of people and moves fairly quickly then just use your car to get back to your resort. We go in Oct. which is busier than Sept. and the traffic isn't bad at all.

Thanks! That is good info! Maybe we'll take the bus for our pre-park ADR, and then after our afternoon break, take the monorail there, and the ferry back. Then, the kids will get a chance to ride both of those. We will have a double stroller, so I'm not looking forward to the bus. We'll be driving everywhere else, and MK just seems like a big pain!

Valet parked at Contemporary in November with no problem. We had an ADR at California Grill, but they didn't look it up or anything.

My DD12 was thrilled to ride the monorail. It was her first time. We looked at it as our last ride of the day!
