I have a friend staying offsite for New Years. They have ADR at Chef Mickey’s on the 31st at 7am. Can they valet for the day at CR and walk to MK? Found some older posts saying you can but nothing in the past few months.

Maybe, but it will be up to the Valet department, and they should be prepared to tip well in addition to the cost of the service.

Valet parking should be good for all day. It was when we did the California Grill Brunch in 2016.

I have seen persons turned away at the guard shack when they wanted to valet park but were not guests of the resort.

You must have terrific hearing. Unless you were standing next to the guard shack, how do you know that the person wanted to self park, and not valet, and that's why they were turned away?

I’m going to tell them to just park at T&T and ride the monorail to be safe. What time should they be parked to allow for a 705 ADR? I’m assuming monorails will be running more than every 20 minutes on NYE.

I wouldn't assume that at all, because you're assuming both operating room to do so, and operating units to do so. Both are not really the case.

Assuming the worst then, what’s a good time to be at T&T to get to Chef Mickeys by 7:05?

Midnight.

(Not really. 6AM. There will be lines on that date by 6AM, so you'll need time to park, get to the monorail, etc.)

Other option:
Dfive to Contemporary.
Self-park.so
Eat breakfast.
After breakfast, everyone except the driver walks to MK.
Driver drives to TTC, parks, takes tram to TTC, monorail/ferry to park, meets up with family.

Thanks. Thought of that, but they have FP for PP starting at 8:15(group of 10 and staying offsite so that was best PP FP they could get at 30 days) Trying to get them in to eat and into MK by the end of FP window at 9:15. Feel like they can get to PP in time, if they walk from CR.

Any other time of the year, I would say no problem. The very most busiest time of the year? They could be seated a bit after their ADR time. They then would have to eat, walk to MK, and get thru security. Hopefully that won't be too bad with the checkpoint being on the walkway. But who knows? It will be tight. What Fastpass are we talking?

There were a lot of people trying to enter the parking lot. They had a guard at both the shack and at the self entry line where you touch your magic band to open the gate. I was driving and had my window open to talk to the guard at the gate. The other guard was arguing with the driver in the car next to me about not being able to valet park if they weren't a guest of the resort. The guard at the shack was getting loud with the guest in the car who didn't like what he was being told. :teeth:

There are going to be long lines trying to park at the T&T Center. Earlier, like long before sunrise to be safe. And don't try to park at the TTC after they eat. They might not be able to get back into the parking lot.

FP is for Peter Pan. It’s basically 2 hours from when the reservation is to FP. It’s also right at opening so I’m hoping they won’t have to wait too long to be seated. Told them the real wait will be on characters coming around. Since it is buffet they could be done eating quick enough to be there for FP, but depending on where they get caught in the character loop could make or break it for them.

I'd not count on being allowed to self-park then move with any efficiency.

That is a day you want to tuck your car in early and not be on roads.

To be safe I’d just park at TTC, you don’t want to get all the way to CR and then be told no it’ll eat up a lot of time back tracking. 6am is probably best for showing up it’s going to get very crowded.

Question is invalid as you will never make that fp. IF Chef Mickey seats you on time you have to eat and get to MK, through bag check and across the park on one of the busiest daysof the year
