If you live in the Santa Clarita Valley or nearby cities (Granada Hills, Frazier Park, Lancaster) and go to the Disney Store in Valencia, CA I have some news for you!

The Disney Store officially becomes a part of The Walt Disney Company October 1st!:lovestruc:banana::woohoo::dance3::cool1::goodvibes

This store will be opening 12am DAT (day after Thanksgiving) aka Black Friday. Yes, that's right! I will probably be clocking in 11pm Thanksgiving day.

Interesting news on the movie forefront:

- Toy Store III releases 2010:woohoo:
- Cars II releases 2012 :)
- Rapunzel :lovestruc
- Pirates of the Caribbean IV 2010 :sad2: I'm sorry but I'm tired of this.

Had my first store meeting today, LOTS of fun!

I guess I don't understand. I thought all the Disney Stores were already part of the Disney company. They sell DL tickets. :confused3

The Disney Store has been owned by the same company that owns The Children's Place for the last several years.

Really looking forward to seeing all the wonderful new merchandise. I'm hoping they have more for adults and collectibles in their stores.

Thanks Cristabel for all that great info. My kids will be thrilled to hear it.

YAY YAY YAY!!!!! Thanks for the info!! And congrats on your new (?) job!

Off topic (sorry) but biolabetty, i'm assuming that you went to Biola? DH and I graduated from there in 1998.

Wow! I never knew that! Sounds good to me! :thumbsup2

Congratulations! I'm from Santa Clarita too, and I haven't been to the mall in weeks. Does this mean that the Disney Store is currently closed and will reopen the day after Thanksgiving?

No, it's open during normal store hours.

I just know that people like to plan out DAT attack plans for good deals. Well the Disney store REALLY wants those early bird shoppers :lmao:

Hey if your in SCV go to Hart Park and check out the herd of bison they have that is the same herd that Walt Himslef donated to the park in Newhall in 1962. They had been at his Disney Ranch in nearby Placerita Canyon prior.

I always forget to stop in there, I usually get sidetracked by that video game store across the way!

Hey there!

Thanks for the news. I live in Valencia (very close to the mall) so I'll be sure to be by the Disney Store soon.

I took my 3 year old daughter to see the Disney Bison at Hart Park this summer. I have a picture of the plaque that tells the story of the Bison and how Disney donated them... I'll try to dig it up and post it!

I was really busy this past weekend at the Street Art Festival, did either of you make it?

It was pretty neat. AND HOT!

Yes I did! Glad to hear you had a great time!

We actually have an unusually large amount of Walt Disney connections in Santa Clarita. Walt liked the area very much.

We have The Disney Ranch, the bison herd at Willian S. Hart Park and CalArts. Did you know that I think 1/4th of Walt's estate went towards the establishment and construction of the higher learning facility in Valencia which is world-renowned?

I like the idea that Walt Disney was very fond of Santa Clarita and invested greatly into it with the ranch and CalArts. Also, as a resident with life-long ties to the area and an expert on the history of the valley I am proud that one of my favorite Americans, Walt Disney left a legacy here that will last forever. Minus residents of Marceline (hometown), Burbank (studios, business center), Anaheim (DLR) and the Orlando area (WDW) what other town in the US can claim such tangible ties to Walt himself? :confused3 ;)

Tim Burton went to Cal Arts too. I think the Santa Clarita area is a popular area for Disney employees to live. In my neighborhood alone, there are 2 imagineers and 1 animator, and that is all within a one block area.

I must admit I've been disappointed with how our Disney Store location has gotten. It used to be for all ages, now it's just targeting very little children! I miss the section of the Disney animation gallery, collector figures, and the larger selection of adult clothes! It's great to shop in for kids, but when I want to look for something for myself or another around my age, it's impossible! :(

I totally agree and so does my mom. We want more adult's clothing and things for us grownups:laughing: I'm hoping they also bring back more classical characters.

Hi Disney Inspired!

Could you post when the DS gets the 09 park hoppers in? I want to purchase one a month or something like that, so that I have our tickets all paid for before our trip without breaking the bank. It is so much easier on my marriage if my husband never sees a total bill for our disney trips.
