valdosta

I have never noticed a chicken farm smell on any of my visits to Valdosta.

My husband just said, "there are chicken farms in Valdosta?" We used to live near several chicken farms and definately know what they smell like!

We have stayed in Valdosta several times, always in March or April and have never noticed the unmistakable smell of a chicken farm.

We have stayed at the Country Inn, also.

Our family was stranded in Lake City, two years ago. We were on our way home from Orlando driving to Illinois. Just a few hours into the trip home our airconditioning, raidaitor, and water pump decided to quit. We were in Lake City. The local chevy dealer helped us find rooms, we just randomly picked the country inn. We had just stayed at the Portofino bay and were not ready for a dive. Happily it was not. The hotel in Lake City is very nice, clean, well ran and fairly new. If for any reason we need to stay that close again to disney, we would stay here in a heartbeat. One thing to take note of, they have suites just as the name implys and I think the suite was only 8.00/day more. Good Luck and enjoy. One other thing, it would give you a short drive to Disney on your next day, which could be nice.

We have stayed in both Lake City and Valdosta several times on our way down, including the Country Inn and never smelled any chickens..did not even know they were there...:)
