Vacuum died!

I guess we're the minority here - we have the Dyson ball & LOVE it (still) I guess we've had it about 2yrs - no problems & we manage to suck up all kinds of stuff that's not supposed to be sucked up in there - LOL that part works well!

It's not that I don't like my Dyson, I just think you can spend less money and get an equivalent working vacuum (Kenmore Progressive Upright with HEPA).

Another one who took the Dyson apart and cleaned the cyclone cylinders and changing the HEPA filter ourselves (supposed to be done by a tech. I was told by Dyson, but they still sold it to me).
I have the Animal over 5 years old. After the cleaning, it works like new.
Just an FYI for others reading this thread.

I planned to replace the Dyson w/ a new Dysin if the cleaning didn't work. I really like mine, but agree that the hose and attachments are a bit of a pain.
I looked at the Animal w/ the ball that pivots, but like the size of the larger cannister of the regular Animal.

We have the DC17 Animal Dyson and we love it. Hopefully the problems others are having won't be the case with ours. We have had ours for about 2 years now without any issues. They are a lot of money but for us it has been well worth it with 2 dogs and my bad allergies.

We have the purple DC25 Animal ball, and love it! I also own the Bissel Lift off Pet Revolution, which is okay, but the Dyson is soooo much better! It is the first vaccum that I can go from carpet to hard floor with just the touch of a button, and it does a wonderful job. I could never do that before, i had to use 2 different vacuums. I am a picky vaccuum person too. I vaccuum every single day!!! I can't stand it when I walk barefoot on a floor and things stick to my feet, which is why I vacuum every day, sometimes 2ce if need be.

I also find the wand to be easier to use on my dyson, and the big bonus, the hose is twice as long!!! You just lift off the handle up and the wand comes off. If you don't want the large wand, you can easily detach it and use just the hose.

As for pets and people in our household, we have DH, DD4, DS2.5, myself, and a cat (who really doesn't shed very much). I also clean out my canister every day after I vaccuum.
