Vacationing in Weston, FL

We are vacationing in Weston, FL. Is there anything you would recommend us doing there or nearby? We plan on taking a few day trips.

Weston? Do you have family there? I'm from down there and I've never heard anyone say they are vacationing in Weston

Anyway, some suggestions:
*The Beach
*Las Olas for shopping
*Jungle Queen or Carrie B riverboat cruises on the New River in Ft. Lauderdale - Carrie B is cheaper, a little shorter in length but you see almost the same things
*Flamingo Gardens in Davie
*Sawgrass Mills Mall - The largest outlet mall in the country! My uncle was the contractor for the super target that is there!
*Lots to do down in Miami if you want to make the trip - south beach, miami seaquarium, metrozoo
*In Delray Beach up in palm beach, the Morikami Museum is very beautiful
*children's Museum of discovery and science / imax theater in downtown ft. lauderdale
*airboat ride in the everglades - google billie swamp safari

That's whay I have off the top of my head - there's of course lots more I'm sure. Will you have children with you?

Hi! I lived in Weston for 14 years...just moved to Plantation last year (which is literally only 5 miles away). Are you staying in a hotel or a home? I don't consider Weston much of a vacation destination, but it is a lovely upscale community and if you golf, well, then I guess it *could* be a destination! Even though you are in the westernmost part of Broward County,the highways are easily accessible.

Just a few minutes away, on Griffin Road and US 27 is an airboat ride place, where you can see the everglades. It is called Holiday Park...google it and get some info. Also, you could drive across the state on I75 and go to the west coast of FL...naples, Marco and Captiva Island, etc. Love those beaches!

Of course the beach is a simple 25 minute drive due east from Weston. I like the Hollywood Beach Broadwalk myself. Maybe one evening also drive east to Las Olas Blvd and stroll around, enjoy some great restaurants/bars/ambiance.

I know everyone talks about Sawgrass Mills Mall...but it really isn't *that* great of a place for deals. It started as an outlet mall...but I don't consider it a true outlet mall. Anyway, it is only 5 or 10 minutes from Weston and it does seem to be a tourist destination.
