Has anyone stayed at the Vacation Village @ Parkway recently? Just wondering how the units and resort are. Not that we'll be there that much!

I have a 1bedroom full kitchen on hold with RCI

nice - been there twice and going back this May - using RCI special to do it.

the units are 1-bedroom - your door will not go out to the hall - there is an extra door between you and the hall - so they can use these for 2-bedrooms.

there is an layout - think on their internet site.

you only want the side with the full kitchen not partial.

they are located in Kissimmee - across the hwy and little down from Celebration.

about 1 or 2 miles from Gaylord Palms

We just got back from there in early February. The resort was very nice! My parents had a 2 bedroom unit. The A unit was bigger with a master bedroom and living and dining room, but the B unit still had a separate bedroom from a living room, plus small kitcken and even a washer dryer unit. We were in building 15 which was nice and new, but not closest to a pool and also facing construction, so not very scenic! The utensils and dishes were very nice, not just odds and ends like some condos, and the tvs were all flat screened. Pools were heated the warmest we've ever felt, which was nice as we were there during the cold spell. Pools in the shade by about noon or so, tho, so hard to just sunbathe. While sightseeing, we tested the water at the Poly, the Swan and the GF, and their water was quite cold compared to vacation villas! Location was convienent to everywhere. We were very pleased.

TY both for the replies. For the amount of time we are going to spend there it should be great! We just like newer and clean units.

We went there last June and the accommodations were nice. We had the larger 1/2 unit, which was great with 2 kids. There were a few disappointments:
1. Arabian Nights, nearby hosts different events. For us it was Gay Pride Week and they had 3 nights of loud techno music from 11pm-6:00am. thankfully the girls fell asleep, but I can't say much for myself. We were warned when we checked in, but I don't think there was any escaping the noise regardless of the room.
2. The surface area around the pool heats up and burns your feet. We had to wear flip flops from the beach chairs to the water and quickly get our feet in the water because it was scorching hot! It was about 90 degrees outside and it was super hot on the kids feet.

Other than that, we had no issues with the staff or the accommodations.

we are staying here at the end of the month for the first time.

Does anyone know if there is a business center w/ computers/interent to use?
Also, we saw pictures of picnic tables with grills, are they gas or charcoal?

how many pools are there? the kids we are bringing are interested to know if there are any pool slides.
do they have noodles and pool toys avalible?

so many ??'s
Thanks for your help!

they have a business center - very small - at the front desk area not where the resort is located.

We just bought the deed for here and are proud new owners of a 2BR L/O every other year!! for $390 CDN. Looking forward to staying here in 2010 and booking bonus vacations thru RCI!! The deal was to great to pass up!:cool1: We have never stayed here but friends go almost every year and stay here!!:cheer2:

Have you looked at the Trip Advisor website? Last time I looked there were a lot of user photos that had pictures of the pools. Dont' just look at the "hotel photos link"...look to the right side of this page (under it's TravelAdvisor Popularity Index number) and click on the tab for photos. Looks like there are 148 right now.

We stayed in April of 2007 and thought it was a nice place. We are going back December of this year. We didn't have any kids with us so we really didn't check in much to the activities they may have on site. I know there is at least one pool area that is considered the 'main' pool area. I'm told they have games, etc at that location, but I have not heard of any water slides. You could always call them and ask if you can't find the info anywhere else.

Good luck!
