Vacation Village at Parkway?

Anyone stay here? How was it? We are going the first week in May with our family of 5 plus my mom, aunt and two adult cousins. My aunt is using her time share points and is getting three of the A&B units so there should be plenty of space for the 9 of us. We are doing Disney, Seaworld and Universal. I know it's very close to Disney but how convient is it to Seaworld and Universal? How are the pools and is the resort nice? Thanks to anyone who can tell me more about it.

Units are quite nice while the overall "resort" is very disjointed, spread over a large footprint and little to no "resort look & feel". Access to all parks - including Seaworld/Universal - is good. You obviously require a car during a stay there as little to nothing is close by. Pools are OK but again lack any real resort feel. They each sort of sit alone behind or between buildings.

It is a nice resort to have as a home base but not one of the best in Orlando by a long shot. As mentioned the units are very nice so you should be fine. Enjoy your stay.

Thanks, we will have our van (thanks to us deciding to try the 22 hour drive from Canada this time). We have alot planned for this trip so we probably won't be spending much time at the resort anyways.

We've stayed there twice- once in April and then again last June. Both units were very nice but this summer we had a unit that overlooked the pool- kind of placed right between two pools. It was VERY loud every night. We like getting to the parks at rope drop so we were kind of tired. Other than that it was a great place.

We have stayed there at least 6 times so far. (It's the most common one to come for an exchange with RCI going from 1-bedroom to a 2-bedroom)
We were satisfied with the rooms the first couple times we stayed until we stayed in other resorts around Orlando. We took a couple years off from Vacation Village and then after reading the reviews on TripAdvisor saying to request a higher building number we started going back. The newer units are much nicer and more upto date. I think you need to ask for building 10 or higher.
We never had a building next to a pool so I can't comment on those but outside noise on ours was nonexistent. The biggest noise we got was from the room above moving the dinning room chairs.
If you know what to expect going in you wont be disappointed.
-Internet is not free unless at the main building.
-Close drive to Disney and Old Town
-No resturaunts on site but MANY close by along with a Publix and Walgreens.
-Parking at the older buildings can be troublesome during peak times.

We loved it. We got two 2 bedroom units and had more room than 7 people need! We were also poolside and didn't find it loud at all. However, we were not near the main pool that has the weekly movie. You would not be able to sleep if your unit was near that movie night!

The units were beautiful and very clean. The pool was heated very well! The main pool was a short walk and offered free snow cones certain afternoons and a movie night one night. We would definitely stay there again.

We did not find the distance to Universal/SeaWorld bad. I think it was about 20 minutes.

We loved it. We had a "B" unit which is a one bedroom unit with a partial kitchen. We were in building 14 which is not next to a pool but has great parking. We were on the 5th floor. I called ahead and requested a newer building on a higher floor and got it no problem. My boys shared the pull out couch and we had the bedroom. The unit is smallish but we had plenty of room. It felt small b/c we had the pull out open all week.

The only noise we heard were the people above us. I swear they were elephants. I have never heard such loud movers. But otherwise we loved it and would stay there again. We were using a friend's time share.

Oh, the ride to the parks is minutes. We were in the MK parking lot in less than 15 minutes. Great location. We love the 192 area and the great thins about this location is you don't need to go through a ton of lights to get to the parks.

I whacked my head and needed to go to the ER and the hospital is 5 minutes away too which is handy if you have an accident like I did.

Same here with the overhead noise. The overhead noise was always worse than the outside noise. You can hear everything being dragged across the floor. Then at night when they move the furniture to open up the pull out couch.

One thing I didn't point out in last post is that I do really like the units design. Each unit consists of an A and a B unit. If you are getting a 2bedroom you get both units. The A unit has a full size bedroom, living room, kitchen, and bathroom. The B unit has a small living room, partial kitchen with full size refridge and microwave, and normal size bed and bathroom. Also each unit has its own lockoff to the other side. This is great for multiple families or bringing the Mother-inlaw along
