Has anyone stayed here? We just reserved a week in May 2008 for our trip. Any info or pictures or tips would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I have no pictures but we have stayed at the resort twice and would stay again. It is not a large resort and the buildings are spread out over a long driveway type access. Not as many on site features as many Orlando resorts have. The units are upscale, well equipped but rather "sterile" with all tile floors except in the bedroom(s) and a rather plain design. Oh don't plan to use the sofa bed as it is the WORST we have ever come across. My daughter preferred sleeping on the cushions on the tile floor so take that for what it's worth.

If you mostly plan to eat, sleep and relax there it is more than adequate and a good location to get to almost anything. There isn't a lot right around it like restaurants or stores - you need to drive. As I said there are resorts we prfer more but it lacks very little and is usually available to get into.

Thank you for the info! Not so sure about that couch bed now....I hope it will be okay.

Are you staying in a 1-bedroom or 2-bedroom unit? If you are staying in a 1-bedroom unit, you need to get an "A-side" unit as it is 1000 sq. ft, has a complete kitchen, whirlpool bathtub, washer/dryer whereas the "B-side" unit is 500 sq. ft., partial kitchen (hotplate instead of a stove, no dishwasher), no washer/dryer (some units have them but don't expect it), no whirlpool tub, etc. You can see the difference in the picture on the URL (the 2-bedroom is the A-side and B-side units together).

We stayed here this past May. This was a trip we planned last minute so on that note it wasn't a bad place to stay. On this trip, unlike other trips, we didn't use any of the amenities of the place, even the pool. We had friends down this trip and were at the parks allot of the time. The A unit was very nicely appointed, very clean etc. I did not like the layout of the place at all and, depending on what building you are in, parking is tough. We moved rooms after the first night for that reason. Like TotoToo said, if you need a place to hang your hat, etc. it's a good place to stay as it's close enough to the parks. We even came back for a nap one day. Would I go back, not really but that's just me.

Are ther any short cuts to the parks from Vacation Village? We are staying here this coming May(traded in our timeshare week and ended up getting our week here) and any info. would be great. We have the 2 bedroom unit for 3 people. The 3rd being our son who is 2 1/2, is the other bedroom in a whole other unit? Do you have to go outside to get to the other rooms?

We stayed there in January '05
In regards to shortcuts, VV@P is about as close as one can be to Disney property for an offsite. Once you make the right onto Hwy 192, just outside the Arabian Knights entrance. You cross I4 and I believe the next exit is World Dr.

Our DS was 2 1/2 when we stayed there, he ended up just staying on our bed (we only had an A side). Just check out the layout . You technically don't go out into the main hallway. A and B are designed as lockoffs and if you have the 2 bedroom you have both sides and thus your key will open up both A and B. If you only had one side, you have to use your key card twice, once on the door from the main hallway, and once more in the lock off for you side. If you have both sides, then you actually can keep the internal doors propped open so that you can easily walk between the units.

Is there a charge for parking at the resort? Do they have a shuttle to Disneyworld or do you have to drive there? and if you have to drive do you have to pay for parking? We are going there in May and taking our 4 year old and 1 year old so I'm trying to see what all I need to plan for.

I'm seriously thinking about VV@P. We're a family of 3 and we're going with another family of 3. This sounds like the perfect set-up. Each family will have thier own "space". But, I'm worried about the sofa bed. My son will be 10 and the other boy 7. Do you think the sofa bed will be okay for the boys?:confused3 We could always get a 3 BR somewhere else--but I like the idea of each family having thier own room:)

We stayed in a 2 bedroom unit last October (A and B sides). The A side had a King Size bed in the bedroom, a pull out sofa in the living room, a whirlpool tub in the master, a stacked washer and dryer, a full kitchen (with oven) and a balcony. The B side had a Full Size bed in the bedroom, a pull out sofa in the living room, a shower/tub combo, a stacked washer and dryer, a kitchen (full size fridge, but no oven -- a convection microwave instead of an oven) and a balcony. Both kitchens came with glassware (eating and drinking), cookware, utensils, salt/pepper, etc. If you have both the A and B units (2 bedroom), you enter a common vestibule from the main hallway with your card key. Then there are two doors which you must use your card keys to access -- the A side and the B side. (A side is bigger).

We have three DDs and they all took turns sharing the full size bed and sofa beds. They even slept on the king size bed a couple of times. No complaints from anyone -- we were happy to be there!

Vacation Village does not charge for parking and I think they offered a pay shuttle to WDW, but I'm not sure as we had our own car. Of course, WDW charges $10 day for parking.

It really is a nice place. They even have outdoor gas grills and loan you the tools to cook with. They did have some organized activities for the kids, but we were so busy with the parks we didn't take advantage of those. It is a bit of a hike from the units themselves to the check-in center where the exercise room and internet access are located.

We did an over 4 hour timeshare presentation here.

The grounds looked very nice, there was even a nature trail.

just DON't do a timeshare presentation here.
Free theme park tickets is not worth the long-drawn out presenation.
