If you were going to make your very own trip planner for a non-WDW vacation what would you want in it.

All of the vacation planners that I have found are totally worthless to me as they center around WDW.

What would you suggest?

I type out my own "plans" before a trip . If you know how to use excel - the forms can be useful (i'm not skilled at it so I find it frustrating).

I put on everything:
1. flight info and times i need to be there, etc... (brief list of absolutely must haves like licence, tickets, etc...)

2. Transportation info and phone numbers for alternate trasportation if necessary.

3. Hotel info (conf #, address, phone, type of room booked, cost, how I paid , etc....)

4. Sites /attractions to see and on what days with transportation needed. Perhaps list what is important to me at that place.

5. Any reservation #, I generally have an idea where I'll be eating that day, etc...

6. Notes: like what requests to ask for when checking in, or a list of discount coupons I have to remember to ask for the discounts when I visit those places.

7. Any phone numbers I think I'll need or might need.

Microsoft task launcher, has a neat vacation planner. It is loaded with forms to use for everything: airlines, car rentals, accomodations, itineraries, restaurants, etc, travel planning tools, and even a check list....

I use it for every trip (even weekend trips)!!!!
