vacation time, sick time, PTO?

I earn 14 hours per month. Until this week I also earned Comp Time for each hour over 40 that I work each week. During my 'on call' week it is quite possible to go way over 40 hours. As a salaried employee I don't get overtime so this comp time is valuable. The problem is that it is often difficult to use it all. So.....the upper administration has come up with a plan to give us the time off that we deserve.

We will now be working a 32 hour week, but paid for a 40 hour week. This way, if we accrue tons of hours during on call, we have a day off each week guaranteed. If we don't accrue tons of hours we still get the day off each week. I am excited about the change, especially knowing that after 7 long days being on call I have to work only 2 days before getting a day off instead of another full week.

It will be interesting to see how it works.

We have PTO at my company. Everything is lumped together and you use it how you need it. I usually take just a day here or a day there, and only really use it for WDW, so I have about 6 weeks saved up.

Its much easier to track using PTO then having to get to keep sick, vacation, and personal time seperate.

We can also cash out PTO hours for pay if we choose.
