So, I'm new to DIS. And I'm making my first trip to WDW next week with the fam. However, I'm a single guy and would love to go on a cruise or other vacation next year. I'd like to go sans family. Is there a place on DIS to find cabin shares with other singles for cruises or hotel shares for trips to parks??

cabin shares are a hard sell. you are basically getting a roommate for the length of the trip whom you don't know...not many people are comfortable with that. even if you make contact prior to the trip, there's the little things that you need to get through while staying together: bathroom use, sleep habits, placement of things in the cabin, is he a neat freak or a slob...things like that. you would think that they would have cabins just for singles since so many people like to travel alone. I only know of one ship that has rooms for solo travelers and NCL has it.

I agree with NJDiva. I've been on six solo Disney Cruises in the past two years and I would find it very uncomfortable having to share a stateroom just to save some money. I usually get a nice stateroom with a window view which are a bit larger than the standard inside staterooms but they are still small. I would hate to have to tiptoe around basically a stranger who may prefers to sleep late, come in late, wake up early, leave a mess, etc. Personally I really enjoy having the stateroom to myself.

where's the LIKE button!! I totally agree with you on that. then if I want to ba a slob, I can be :rotfl:

That makes sense. Still, what about separate rooms on a trip to WDW?

same thing, it's easy to meet up with people while flying solo, but again, most are not willing to share rooms with people. I would suggest if money is the issue and you plan on staying on property, look at the value resorts. there are a lot of singles that like staying there but you would have do decide that for yourself, I personally like the moderate resorts (less children) and the rooms are great.
