Hello everyone!

I've come to the DIS boards for a previous Disney trip and got a TON of help. That time we had 3 young children and stayed on Disney property. It was fun... But this time we'll have 5 little ones and need a little more space. I think it would be fantastic to rent a home or townhouse with a private pool. Our older three kids would LOVE it! I'm just a little overwhelmed when looking online and at VRBO, etc. Can you please help? Proximity to WDW is a HUGE factor... I'd appreciate any help you can give. We'd likely be traveling in late September or early to mid-October, so it wouldn't be the absolute "high" season down in Orlando.

Many thanks!
nicole

Windsor hills would prove best for this, it is just five minutes to all Disney parks and the houses and apartments are nice and comfortable enough to rest and enjoy yourself.

We stayed in a townhouse in windsor hills last may. It was a great location (about 8-10 min to MK). This upcoming trip I'm also checking out Encantada and Crestwynd Bay which are both supposedly right near Windsor Hills, but cheaper.

Another vote for Windsor Hills! Nice and close! Here is the link to the owner we always rent from (6-7 times with no issues). They have townhomes available but not homes.

Good luck and have a great trip!

I would strongly suggest staying in a 4-5 bedroom home rather than a town home as the town home pools are very small (considered a splash pool), and I couldn't imagine it being large enough for 5 kids.

We usually stay in Windsor Hills and book through Florida Sun Vacation Homes. They have competitive rates if you stay 7 nights or longer as they offer a 15% off discount. We always book a house with a game room. My kids LOVE the game room as much as the private pool in the home we rent. Windsor Hills is also the only community that has a waterslide as well as zero entry at the community pool. Our kids enjoy the community pool as well.

The are other communities nearby that are less expensive due to less amenities but still highly recommended.

Here is a link to a thread regarding the best communities near Disney to rent a home:

Good luck with your search!

When we were looking into vacation rental homes with private pools we looked at all the places and Villa Direct was cheaper than VRBO for the same neighborhoods. We found a 4 bedroom with game room and pool for $89 a night.

We ended up staying on property with free dining but if we ever get a vacation rental home we will definitely use Villa Direct.

Windsor Hills is fantastic!

I highly recommend Romancing the Mouse. http://romancingthemouse.com
They own 3 vacation rental homes and they themselves live in the development. They give such personal service! They meet you at the house with the keys and give you a tour of the home, showing you how everything works. They have fresh baked cookies, juice and muffins waiting for you. Their homes come supplied with all your basic necessities (soap, toilet paper, etc). And they give you their personal cell # if you have any questions. They'll give you advice on where to eat/shop, etc. Literally 10 mins from leaving the driveway till parking at Animal Kingdom!

If you decide to go with them, pm me for my email to use as a referral - you get the 30% discount, and I get an additional 5% on our next visit. We're going again in April, can't wait!

We are staying with amazingdisneyhomes.com in June. The owners are very professional and have been great to work with! Good luck

just wanted to mention Crestwynd Bay is right next door to Windsor Hills...we were at AKL this past weekend and decided to drive over to WH to see how close it "really" is...we drove right by Crestwynd. There's another one right there, too (I want to say Westgate was in the name?) But anyway, coming south on Old Lake Wilson Rd from Hwy 192, you pass that Westgate (or whatever the name was, and Crestwynd, then the Windsor Hills maingate was the 3rd turn off the road. Didn't see an Encantada but wasn't actually looking for it.
