I asked recently about WorldMark Anaheim, and I'm still exploring a couple of rental leads there. It's about the same price as a week at a suite at one of the local hotels, but so much roomier. We're planning a week's stay-roadtrip down from Oregon-and have 3 children, including a teenager, so more than one room is a must :). We also like to cook in our room whenever possible on vacation-it sucks to eat out three meals a day with small children, plus we save a ton of time and money.

I've been looking at vacation home rentals through VRBO and HomeAway. Any tips? Any places you'd recommend?

Probably I am not the most experienced person to post but I thought I would give my wiew point. I have done VRBO many times (Hawaii, Nova Scotia, Whistler) and I love them. Same cost as hotels with the plus of more room, kitchen, great locations etc.

But in Disney my priorities are different. I have found I spend very little time in the hotel, and I certainly don't cook. It takes too much time away from Disneyland.
I like a place that is CLOSE! So if we want a swim or nap, we can, so that we can recharge for the evening.
I select a hotel with suites preferably with a seperate room for the kiddos, which usually has bunk beds and a double sofa bed (could add a cot too) and a NICE bed for Moi.
Plusses are free breakfast, fridge (to store lunch makins), microwave etc..
So Eat at hotel, pack snacks, water and sandwichs for munchin at Disney, then dinner out.

So Disney isn't the same as our regular trips.. where condos are our preferred choice. Disney is all about convenience.

We haven't stayed there yet, but I just booked through VRBO for this house:

It is about 10 minutes from DL and gets good reviews. I will be happy to update this thread after our stay in late May. So far, everything has been excellent, the owner has responded promptly to all emails and inquiries and has been super helpful making sure our needs will be met. So I am hopeful! The owner also owns another place across the street with a hot tub. :3dglasses

When the 6 of us go, the World becomes a pain as far a s location so if we need a suite we usually do the RI Maingate if we can not get into the Villas. One of the ladies who work for me just got back and said they loved the place but just to fair for the family to walk and did not like the car hassle. Best of luck,

Jack
