I'm in a baaaaaadddd way people. Due to an unforeseen deployment to Afghanistan (there's still a war there, did ya know?) our family has missed out on TWO vacations this month (Ireland and Normandy). I need some peace. And some nice relaxing 'vacational' thoughts. Post some awesome pics, and breathe in the relaxation with me.

I don't have a lot on my computer, due to a lost hard drive, but here is Switzerland. Oh how we loved it there.

I'm sorry to hear your dh is gone again. Do you know how long he's deployed? :goodvibes

No photos, but I just wanted to send some

My DH has been there for a year in Nov. Ugh, can't count how many things have had to be postponed because of it.

That is a gorgeous pic btw.

Thanks winn-kahs.
I don't know how long, but it won't be long at all really. It was just unexpected.

Oh milliepie, my dh won't be gone long at all, and I'm not really mad that he deployed. A month or so is nothing in the grand military scheme of things. In fact, it was only the suddenness and the timing that are a bothersome. We're REALLY lucky, and we know it.
Any idea when your dh will be home?

Here's a couple for you.

DH's hometown in Richmond, Yorkshire. No, that's not his childhood home. ;)

:woohoo: You'll be there before you know it!!
Just what I needed. Relaxing photos.:cloud9:

I know you are tired out even if your deployments aren't that long. The constant coming and going is just as tiring.

I found out why my husband gave in so recently to a trip in December. He'll be home about 5-6 weeks and then he is gone approximately 10 weeks and I'll be out house hunting and trying to figure out where we are going to live. He so owes me more than just another trip.

:headache: That's always how it is, isn't it?
Pack up, find a house, move in...alone. UGH.

NMAmy~ those are great. It's his hometown but not childhood home?:confused3 He's a resident?

Here's a few from this past summer in Maine, Vermont and New Hampshire. We've never been but I had some family business to take care of so we made it part of our vacation. Hope this works...enjoy!

Believe it or not, the scenery was even more amazing in person.

:lmao: The first picture is of the castle that's in his hometown. Here's a picture of the town. His family's home was more modest than the castle was what I meant but it came out weird.

This is a picture from the top of the keep of the castle that shows the countryside:

My FIL has a cottage there and lives there for part of the year. It's a beautiful, peaceful place.

And to add a little WDW, here's an early morning picture of the Boardwalk:

I've got some great pictures of New York from this summer but haven't uploaded them online anywhere yet.

Hope your husband gets home soon, Briarmom, and you get your much needed vacation!

ETA: You're getting some great pictures on this thread. Now I need a vacation, too.;)

He has been gone for almost a year so his time is almost up. He'll be home in time for the holidays. :yay: (crossing my fingers) Thx for asking. Oh, and I found a photo of Cabo.
