Vacation Outlet's National Car Rental Discounts???

At the Vacation Outlets website (www.vacationoutlet.com), clicking on the car rentals takes you to a very-good-rate contract number (I was getting $510 with my default contract number and got $360 with the VO contract number) and some good discounts. So I booked an Emerald Club reservation using the contract number and one of the discounts, and I printed out the online discount coupon for that discount.

I carefully read all the "rules & conditions", and I do not see that I need to have bought anything from VO nor even to present the online discount coupon at any point.

I do not want to get off the plane and find out this whole reservation has crumbled to dust over something that did not entitle me to this contract number -- or to the coupon. So am I going to be okay with this reservation, even though I have paid nothing for anything to VO? (And if I am okay, how does VO make money on this use of their contract number?)

Thanks for the info. - I just saved another $32.13 by using the vacationoutlet code & coupon for our February trip. FYI, using the vacation outlet contract ID and coupon results in a better discount than code NHOL, which is the code for the current special listed on National's web site.

You don't have to purchase anything from them to use the discount. I found this one too at http://www.pcpages.com/rentalcodes/ .
Make sure you don't mix other contract id numbers or other discounts if you are using the coupon as it specifically states that you cannot do that on the coupon.
