Vacation opinion rquested from you all

Our vacation is from 6/29 through 7/9. I got a 39.00 fare from Philly to WPB and am supposed to drive the 2 1/2 hours to Orlando (we rented a house we are not on site). I was thinking of since traveling to Tampa instead but the only flight now is a 44.00 flight on thursday night. We can't get the house until Friday at 3. What should we do.

There are 10 of us going some are flying into Tampa on Friday and some to WPB on Friday.

I love using Tampa Intnl!! It's a terrific airport. I like WPB as well. But since Tampa is only about 70 minutes from WDW, that's the way I would go. Could you stay the one night at a motel in Orlando, or Tampa? I know my dad makes the drive up from Pompano Beach and there have been times it has taken him close to 5 hrs.!! He is not a pokey puppy either...it's just been heavy traffic on those days.

Tampa airport is great.
72 miles from there to the WDW exit.
I'd say fly into Tampa, and find an inexpensive hotel near Orlando for Thursday night.

You have to do the math for your own situation though. It looks like it'll cost you an extra $5 per person and one hotel room (or rooms) night, and you'll save (assuming some decent traffic) maybe 1:15 in commute time. Also, will the rental car cost you another day?

If you had something you could do F during the day (park visit, offsite stuff, DTD, extra...), I'd say go for the Thursday flight. Not much point in getting there early if you don't have anything to do but sit around and wait.
