Vacation Lodge hotel destroyed by fire

The Vacation Lodge hotel on U.S.192 in Kissimmee, was destroyed by fire overnight last night. Fortunately they were only minor injuries. Here's the story: Vacation Lodge hotel fire

Other than smoke inhalation problems, there were no injuries.

It was not a tourist hotel.

It was a 40 year old building that houses lower income families on a long-term basis.

It will be several days until it cools down enough so that investigators can go in.

1) It housed about 65% low income and 35% transient homeless.
2) Our charity group helped 17 of the transient families at the motel.
3) Of the approx 150 residents, we helped 46 of them.

. . . clothing onations
. . . food gifts
4) Temporary, the Red Cross has them housed at motels and gyms.

NOTE: They know the exact room that started the fire. They have yet
to determine the source/cause. Speculation is a hotplate, but that is
ONLY speculation.
