Hi. I would love to have any advice regarding my trip itenerary/ activites while we are in Walt Disney World. We will be taking our first trip July 5th thru July 17th. It will be me, my husband, and my 3 children...ages 4, 5, and 8. We are staying at the Disney Beach Club Resort. I have made reservations for Cinderellas Character Breakfast and Rose and Crown to watch Illuminations from the patio (hopefully!). Is there anything that is a MUST DO OR MUST SEE? I don't want to miss out on anything.

Also, any imput on the water parks would be great. Which one is better? Are they both worth going to? When is the best time to go to avoid HUGE crowds? Any suggestions would be great! Thanks. Cindy;)

Because you are going during a hot & humid time of year my #1 suggestion would be to get up early on your park days so you can do the parks for a few hours & then take a mid-day break. After your break you can return to any parks you would like to.

You will definitely need the break. It gets very hot & really takes its toll on everyone. You will love SAB at the BC. It's a great pool to go with a great resort.

Being able to walk or take a boat to both EPCOT & MGM will be a real convenience for you.

Water parks - I think you would like both of them. They are both themed differently, but are both great fun. My suggestion for the water parks is to get there very early - before opening. They get very crowded during hot peak times. For a water park you can spend the day there & then just veg out at nite.

I would also suggest giving each family member a fanny pack & water bottle holder so everyone can take snacks & cold water into the parks. It's not only a money saver, but a time saver also because you don't have to wait in line to get drinks or snacks. You also may want to give each person a rain poncho that they can roll up in their fanny packs. It usually rains every day around mid-afternoon in Florida.

You are now allowed to take coolers into the water parks, so you may want to pack a soft side cooler in your luggage.

Are you staying in the regular rooms or in the Beach Club Villas?

Have fun planning - it's half the fun. :p

My advice is to plan what day you are going to spend in what park. Don't over plan on what you want to do at what time because that won't work. It gets really crowed and with everyone wanting to ride the same rides you want, waiting in lines will become the norm. Plan on what area of the park you want to hit first and then take your plan from there. starting at around 2pm people start to line the parade route in the MK to watch the parade...during the parade, the lines for the rides are very small. I rode Pirates of the Caribbean 5 times with only about a 5 minute wait at one time. Deffinately see the parade, but watch it from Frontierland (the parade startes next to Splash Mountain and winds its way around and eventually down Main Street). So, when the parade ends where you are, other people are still waiting for it to start so lines will be small. I hope this helps.

We always make Chef Mickey's a first night tradition. It puts you right in the mood and you can watch the fireworks at MK right off the deck under the monorail line. I would say Blizzard Beach is your best water park. Since your kids are various ages, BB will have the most choices for each age group. Tikes Peak is perfect for your 4 year old, and your 8 year old will be happy too! I agree with everyone else, don't over schedule. You will never see evertything you want to this trip. I think they do it on purpose so you have to come back. Pick the top rides per park and hit them first. Also, if it rains, put on your poncho and go! The ride lines drop dramaticaly and you will have some great pictures! Have a blast!

Pick up the autograph books and big, fat pens for your kids. You can find them at any of the stores right inside the parks. They are at a good age to get autographes from the characters. The books are great "ice-breakers". Watch your 4 yo, at this age they still may freak out when they see the big characters.
