We are cruising the Eastern Magic in September  , and we purchased trip insurance through DCL.

We booked our air separate from DCL, so my question (and it may be a dumb one) is: Will our trip insurance cover any problems we may have with flights if there should be any "weather difficulties" (I refuse to utter the "H" word!)?

I assume that it reimburses for all out of pocket costs associated with the trip...(ie hotel, flights, and the cruise itself, if need be) But please correct me if I'm mistaken.

Thanks!

If you booked your trip insurance thru DCL, it will cover only that part of the trip that you booked thru DCL. If you buy your trip insurance separately, it can cover your entire trip.

This becomes especially important if you book a separate land portion of the trip or book air separately. Also, if you book air thru DCL, they will be responsible for getting you to the ship--whether this means holding the ship for you, flying you to the first port of call, or whatever. If you book your air separately, YOU are responsible for getting to the ship.

That said, we usually book air separately. But also buy the insurance separately. It is usually cheaper and better coverage than doing the package deal.

Ok, so my next issue is going to be cancelling the insurance through DCL and purchasing separate insurance. Is it possible to cancel the insurance if I've already paid in full?
