Hello,

On our next Disney World trip, we will have a new addition to the family! Along with myself, husband, and 4-year old, we will have a probably 6-7 month old baby. I am insisting we stay in a place with kitchen (to wash bottles, etc.). The suites in the "world" are soooo expensive. I have been looking into Emerald Island Resort vacation homes. Looking at the reviews, most are excellent, but some are very bad. Does anyone have any preference for a vacation home? Any hotel chains that offer rooms with kitchens that don't cost over $200 a night?

Have you thought about renting points from a Disney Vacation Club member? You can go to the rent/trade board to see who has points available or see the ad for the commercial rental group. You may be able to stay in a studio, which usually has a queen bed and a pull-out sofa, unless you stay at OKW, which has 2 queen beds. They also have a pack-n-play for the baby. The studios at OKW seem to be the largest and your 4-yr. old will like the pool.

Or, you could stay in a studio at AKV-Kidani, which has an amazing pool for young kids, along with a splash area. The slide is a lot of fun and we love watching the animals around the resort. You should be able to get something for under the $200 you quoted. :thumbsup2

Another option is the hotels at DTD. My friend just stayed in one of the suites hotels and it slept six people comfortably for a decent price. This would keep you very close to WDW so that you can go back and forth during the day with ease.

Don't overlook both of these options. It's so much easier with young kids if you are able to stay "on-property".

I have never thought of renting from a DVC member. Couldn't even know you could do that! I will definitely check that out. We would love to stay on property, just didn't think we could afford it with the accomodations I want! Thanks!

There's lots of nice condos and townhouses in Windsor Hills that are very reasonable. These get good reviews: http://www.5mins2disney.com/
We've stayed in this one: http://www.vrbo.com/69056
A few more that DISers have recommended:

The storytime townhouses : http://www.storytimeorlandorental.com/ also get good reviews and there's also many more.
We stayed at this 4 br pool house in Sunset Lakes (next to Emerald Island) in Feb/Mar.

We have staid at Windsor Hills which is very very nice but can be pricey depending on who you rent with and time of year. We also staid at Liki Tiki Village they have 1-3 bedroom condos full kitchen washer/drier etc with a water park my kids loved.

This year we are staying at WIndsor Palms at www.orlandosecret.com ($675 for a full week in June with taxex) awesome rates, nice home, and the owners are nice to work with. You can also browse www.vrbo.com for yoru dates and particulars. Here are a couple other sites you might liked. www.windsorhillsrent.ccom and www.windsorpalmsresortvillas.com

Have a great trip :)
