Has anyone stayed at the vacation homes in the WDW area? What are they really like? Were looking to go with the two of us, a friend and her three kids (6,8,10 yrs). We were espically interresed in the homes with a pool. Please email us information at

I've stayed in vacation homes on two of my trips to Disney and will be staying in one again in August. I've used Premier Homes and Florida Leisure with no complaints. I'm a bit partial to Florida Leisure because you can view pictures of their homes on the website and pick which one you like best. You know in advance where the home is located and what it looks like. With Premier, you don't know what home is assigned to you until you check-in.

What you see on Florida Leisure's website is what you get. The homes are beautiful, spacious and well-equipped. The pricing is also very reasonable, a little less than Premier. On my last stay, I rented a 4-bedroom Florida Leisure home for 3 adults and 5 children, ages 4, 4, 6, 8, 9. We saved money by eating some of our meals at the house and there was enough room that there wasn't a spat among the five kids the entire time we were there. They loved the screened-in pool!

If you have any other specific questions, I'd be happy to answer them.

Oops, forgot the website:Florida Leisure

We are staying with Greg and Miki's pool villa. It's 5 bedrooms and has a wonderful mickey mouse pool. One ear a 18" kiddy pool and the other ear is a sauna for mom and dad. Not to mention it changes colour at night and you can see the MK fireworks from this location. They are very nice and eager to answer your questions. They already have cribs, strollers not to mention a gourmet chef's kitchen. The will provide chef's services upon request and we are planning to use that. They also will have a maid come in midweek and tidy up the place and wash and iron your clothes now that's service! Greg and his assisant Camil have been wonderful. This is a privately owned home the Greg and his wife Miki own. We have a rate of 199 for the week of the 4th July I thought it's was resonable and the accomadations are plenty for our party of 8. Just check them out at www.disneyvacationvilla.com you want see but one home and it's there's. He does some booking for neighbors and such so if you need different bedding arrangements just ask and he'll try to help you.

We have stayed in Westridge and Creekside over the years and now have our own lakeside villa at Hampton Lakes which is only 12 minutes drive to WDW.

Its the best way to go on vacation. You have more space and privacy. Your own pool and you can come and go as you please.

Twinz,
Vacation homes are a great way to save money and to have a great time. Generally vacation homes will save you money over hotels because they are cheaper, in the first instance and secondly, you have your own kitchen to cook you own meals.

The best vacation homes, IMO, are located within 10-15 minutes of Disney off US 192. They are closer to the parks. Homes on US 27 are usually a 15 - 20 minute drive but a lot depends on the traffic as you come along US 192. Homes on US 27 are really no different to those located on the US 192 corridor but because they are further away they can be cheaper in daily rental fee.

I understand your reservations if you haven't stayed in a home before but I can assure you that once you have, hotels become a thing of the past !

CDisney - Thanks for that. Look forward to seeing you again :):D

I agree with Cdisney, we have used Florida Leisure and felt the house was beautiful. It had 2 master bedrooms and 3 other rooms. The pool could be heated and the house was very clean. We were about 10-15 min drive to the gates of Disney. We go with 11-14 people every other year and always used them. This year we are buying a house at Wyndham Palms which also rents and is a very nice gated community. Good luck!

This just gets better.....congratulations kidzmom3!
Hope it works out well for you.

I've stayed at vacation homes twice this year and think they're the only way to go, now! I booked through Florida Leisure in January and Elite in April. Both homes were phenomenal! If you want more info, just email me!

I am your neighbor in Glennville,Ga.!! I also have 4 kids, 3 boys and 1 girl. I am interested in a vacation home for our 2003 trip and am so glad to see all these positive responses. How is driving to the parks? Our kids our 9,7,3,2 and we just returned from WDW for a short trip May 4-7 and took bus from DTD hotel and now have decided that our car would be better especially for melt down afternoons! Only we will here our kids noise! Well thanks alot!
