Vacation Homes with Pools question...

I know that there is a pool heating fee but this is what confuses me.,

What is solar heat and would that be enough to heat a jacuzzi?
Do both the pool and jacuzzi get heated? Would the jacuzzi be hot enoug....sometimes they just say to 83 degrees and that seems kind of cold for a jacuzzi...we are going in January.

Very good question, and I can only tell you what I have heard....Solar heat can be unpredictable and not as warm as you might like on a very special vacation.....it is no charge, but for 20 bucks or so extra it might be worth it for gas or electric heat, especially if this is a very special trip...and especially if it is Oct to March....I have seen very few solar heaters in the rental developements and I am sure it is because it is not the most predictable..others may be much more knowlegeable than I...Ted

9 times out of 10 the pool is heated via the spa. To keep the heat recircling in the spa it is necessary to turn a couple of valves which are located outside the pool screen. Make sure you contact the MC for instructions first as each system is different. Better homes have a switch that you hit and the valves then turn automatically for the spa.

Solar heating is very unlikely to get the spa warm so you will need to pay for pool heating, particularly in January ! In the colder months a gas heater will get the pool warmer more quickly but it is also more exensive and the trend these days is for most owners to fit electric heaters to their homes.
